Draft Future: Miami?

Of course Wayne wants the draft in Miami. It's all apart of his master plan to take over the NFL.

Miami? People don't show up for Dolphins games in Miami. They couldn't even sell out a playoff game a few years back vs B'more. You think in mid-April people will show up and watch a draft (which is like watching paint dry).

If its not in NY then it goes to Philly (Where it was started way back when). I don't see it being moved to Miami, SD, or someplace like that.

Guys correct me if I am wrong, I could have sworn the Draft was in Canton Ohio at one time or another? I'm probaby mistaken. :goof:

I always thought they should move it around to different cities ever year. Kind of like the NCAA BB semis. I would definitely go on day one.

Move it around? It's a friggin draft! There is nothing to do or see. It isn't like there are events and stuff going on for the kids. This isn't the Super Bowl. It's a place where agents go and try and backstab each other while teams talk on the phone for 2 days straight. They could take away the fans and hold it in a hotel conference room and at the end of the day it is still just a draft and would anybody notice.

I dont' see how shopping it around to cities is going to bring or add anything to the NFL or the city. This notion that people will flock to the draft to sit indoors and just well, sit. And wait for an announcement every 15 minutes is mind blowing to be honest.

The only reason people go to the NBA draft is because its over in like 2 hours or so and the picks are fast and furious. The NFL draft is 2 days long and moves so slow and its just down time. People in cities like SD or Miami aren't going to go to this thing and spend a day like they will in NY or another die-hard football city like say Philly or Cleveland. You can hardly get the people in SD or Miami to show up for games, you think they will show up for a draft?

Just keep it in NY cause you know it works there and there are no real problems. Or go back to Philly where it started and be done with it.

The NFL Draft has become one of the most watched non-sporting events on TV. No matter how many peoples minds are blown by the concept of people sitting for hours and wait for 15 minutes annoucements it a fact that people do it. In fact people wait hours ahead of time to do it. People fly into town to do it. Cities want this in their town b/c it brings in money and they know the money will follow it to whatever town hosts it.

brings money to the city? Are you serious? Its the NFL Draft!

Asking this question just proves that you haven't been paying attention.

I pay attention. You are making out the draft to be the Final Four or the Super Bowl. When its nothing more than a glorified NFL meeting where a few hundred local fans show up.

There were people on this web site asking for info about the draft so they could fly in. How can you say people don't travel to the NFL Draft?
