I have been watching the draft since the first time ESPN started putting them on. I agree after sitting through some horrible ones, this was better than most we have seen since 2000. But...but...this could have been better.
While I am not saying Harris is a bad player, but in my opinion McKinley would have been a better choice.
Again McMillian is not a bad choice, but Obi Melifonwu would have definitely been a better choice. Like it or not this is a passing league. I would have liked to see him and Jones in the back of the defense. I think he could have definitely matched-up against the TEs in this division. The knock on him is that he his instincts are not on par with other safeties, but I did not notice that.
I do not like corners that adverse to tackling unless there names are Deion Sanders. Tankersley is contact adverse. Dorian Johnson would have been a better pick. I think the whole deal of the rumor somehow through all the interviews and all the background checks that he just happened to come up with a kidney issue the day of the draft is BS.
Rounds 4-7, I do not have a problem. All the trades in the 5th were a little crazy, but unless you do something totally stupid- it is not a big deal. I like Asiata. It drove me crazy we did not pick a OG earlier, but the pick was very good value. Godchaux, in time, has enough talent to break into the starting line up. Taylor, while he may not start, can be a good back up and he also provides the depth we need. Ford has good upside and that is what you look for in the 7th.

So you fell in love with certain players and when they werent picked the actual pick doesnt get a good grade? Gotcha!

I'm sure DK can speak for himself, but where did he say any of the picks didn't get a good grade? Maybe Tankersly, for the most part I just saw that he liked a few of the options more.

Very pleased. We didn't get too cute for a change. The picks made sense. Asiata in the 5th was fantastic.

I'm only speaking knowing the position and player type that we picked. All I have is highlight tapes and other people's opinion. So I'll just go ahead and give an A to the overall draft strategy, as for specific players, I just dont know...

Overall I think we had a good draft. I don't see any immediate impact player(s) but most of the picks are solid and sets us up for the future.

It's hard for me to say on those WR's and DL prospects at the end, because those weren't really positions that I look at too deep. I'm disappointed we didn't get a safety or William Likely for the Nickel, because those are still positions of need. But all in all, we got a good pass rusher, good guard prospect, very good LB, and a good CB prospect. All of our top 4 (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and the trade-up first 5th) were value picks. I am happy overall. There are definitely guys I'd have preferred, but this is a solid draft. Most importantly, we didn't fail on such a talent-rich draft. The team got better. The coaches have talent with which to work.

Harris: C, talented but where is the actual production? Too easily rag-dolled on running plays

McMillan: B, I like him as a player but I am struggling to see where he fits with Timmons here. Probable future starter, hope he can play outside

Tankersley: C, I like that he is big CB but he hates tackling and with all the grabbing he does he probably will be penalized a lot

Asiata: A, Great value at where he is pick, finding a starter in the 5th was a great pick

Godcheaux: C -, probably my least favorite pick. I think Taylor is going to outshine him

Taylor: B, Solid DT that I hope can go into the rotation with Suh and Phillips

Ford: B+, really good value for a 7th round pick. Might be a better WR than Caroo without costing Miami all the picks

Overall: B -
