Here's a run down of the history of Dolphins drafts. IMO, over 20 years, we have had roughly 20 impact players, and maybe half that many in their first year. Yet, this year, some expect 3-4 starters. Yet. some look to this draft to add 3-4 starters. I love the optimism but, am having a problem in it being realistic.

It is possible that "The Football Gods" will bless us to make up for the past but, I'm not counting on it.

Some of that might have to do with the people making the picks. I don't think that, outside of Jimmy Johnson picking defensive players, this franchise has ever had someone I would consider a personel guru. Hell, they lucked out in drafting Marino.

Especially players on the OL. Only one time can I remember picking up two starting OLman in the draft that started their rookie year on the OL, and that was Webb and Sims. Right now we need 3 starting OLman and I just don't see us getting more than one in the draft.

I can't remember any OLman in the last decade that started their rookie year unless they were drafted in the first rd, except Martin and he SHOULDN'T have been starting.

Deep draft....especially at position the Dolphins need...

Larry Warford was a third rounder and started every game last year for the lions.

Honestly I see this team only looking for one starting o-linemen in this draft. Currently the Fins have Albert-LT, Smith-LG, Pouncey-C & Garner/Brenner/Thomas-LG. That means they really only need a starting RT & whoever else they draft will be competition at RG/depth. Am I truly happy with this scenario, no, but based on the writing on the wall this appears to be the situation.
