Draft Mallett? Hell no! Trade for McGee! =\

McGee did the same thing to us last year in the 4th preseason game. Hes a true preseason champ.

Also I like how 50% of the responses in this thread took this post as serious. Good comparsion to lousy mallet. "Oh but he made quick decisions" yea lets see how quick that ball comes out against legit and defense that gameplans.

I saw Troy Smith in preseason against the Dolphins, I think, a couple of years back... I thought he looked awesome. I simply couldn't understand why they released him the following week.

And that's what I have to say about that.

cmon man, they never played against starting defenses calm down.....

The Patriots' Ryan Mallett is the steal of the draft.
The rookie had a sensational debut performance against the Jaguars. Mallett completed 12 of 19 passes for 164 yards with one touchdown on his way to leading the Patriots to two scores in his four possessions.

Thanks Sparano and Ireland. Clowns

He's being SARCASTIC and poking fun at all the nimrods who want to trade a second or third for Kyle ****ing Orton, sign Vince Young, or do anything else that would not actually be a true upgrade to the QB position.

Why is everyone so upset the regime did not draft Ryan Mallett when the outrage should be based over the fact that they refuse to trade for Stephen McGee who has clearly blossomed!

Oh, you don't believe me? Stephen McGee threw 3 touchdowns last night. That is real NFL preseason touchdowns. And not only that, but he led his team on a come from behind 4th quarter drive to steal a win. CAN YOU SAY CLUTCH?!

Clearly McGee is a god among boys at the quarterback position thus far this year. And for his NFL career? He has a QB rating of 81.4. WHOA MAN! That would be like, waaay cool here, no?

Now why is it this regime is willing to trade or sign any Cowboy except this superhuman with a cannon for an arm? Clearly this front office is a bunch of jokers. =\

Please, its not like this is an offensive lineman. Who needs quarterbacks when you can keep signing offensive lineman after offensive lineman.

But you do make a good point, he is a Dallas Cowboy...so, 50/50 chance we burn a second rounder on him before pre-season is over?

Whether you like Mallett's potential or not, the fact that Ireland passed on him in the late 2nd after trading up into that round and Mallett was still sitting there after sliding - that decision is always gonna be scrutinized - especially if Daniel Thomas doesn't end up being better than Mallett - and especially if Mallett ends up becoming better than Henne. Add in that he's a Patriot - people are gonna be talking about this whether you like it or not.

If we wanted a raw, wild and inexperienced QB, why on Earth didn't we just develop Tyler Thigpen?
