Now that we see Miami will not have a low draft pick  we are probably going to be looking between 12-20. I see 3 possibilities:

1) We trade up to get our franchise QB (Quinn, Cutler, Young??) in the first round
2) We draft defense in the first round and take our QB later in the draft (Drew Olsen, Omar Jacobs)
3) We get a QB through FA (Carr, Brees/Rivers, Harrington, etc), draft a qb later, dump ferotte, sage and keep the lemon. or any type of qb switch.

How I think they should draft:
1) CB/LB
2) QB
3) WR

Any F.A. but Harrington. And while we are talking about trading up for our franchise QB, hell, just trade all of our picks and Ricky Williams for Matt Leinert. Which will never happen.

We might be out of the QB lottery right now, but that's fine with me. I'd rather keep winning.
If Quinn declares, Young may drop to us. If Cutler has a great combine, he may rise up to us.

I like Young, Cutler, and Omar Jacobs

I think any of the three will be fine NFL QB's with the right coaching

Im not a leinart guy....I dont see NFL arm strength in him

We currently have the 15th pick after week 14.

Yep, all alone at 6-7. Here's a rough look at the rest of the order (assuming Atlanta beats New Orleans tomorrow):

1 Houston 1-12
2 San Francisco 2-11
3 New York Jets 3-10
4 New Orleans 3-10
5 Green Bay 3-10
6 Buffalo 4-9
7 Cleveland 4-9
8 Arizona 4-9
9 Detroit 4-9
10 Tennessee 4-9
11 Baltimore 4-9
12 Oakland 4-9
13 St. Louis 5-8
14 Philadelphia 5-8
15 Miami 6-7
16 Denver (Wash) 7-6
17 Minnesota 8-5
18 Atlanta 8-5
19 Pittsburgh 8-5
20 Kansas City 8-5
21 New England 8-5
22 Dallas 8-5
23 San Diego 8-5
24 Chicago 9-4
25 Tampa Bay 9-4
26 Carolina 9-4
27 Jacksonville 9-4
28 New York Giants 9-4
29 Cincinnati 10-3
30 Denver 10-3
31 Seattle 11-2
32 Indianapolis 13-0

Week 17 will feature the Reggie Bush Super Bowl, Houston @ San Francisco. My guess is that Houston will win & Reggie will reunite with his high school QB Alex Smith.

I will take options 1 and 3. If we go all defense again and neglect the qb like last year (Orrrrrrrrtooooooooon!) we are doomed again.

so your saying you would have taken Orton over Crowder in the 3rd round?

I agree this year we need to draft a little offense but im glad we passed on orton, he hasnt really played particulary well, the team around him have won the games for the bears

fortunately, we can win games and be happy about them, but we probably won't slide farther back than 16 if at all. i mean, i want to win games, first and foremost.

Draft Michael Huff or Chad Greenway. 15 is the ideal spot for either guy.

actually, we took daniels over orton. anyways, orton hasn't been a world-beater. the bears are winning a lot of games, but how much of a contribution can he really be making with these numbers?

Orton was a 4th rounder? I thought he was a third oh well my bad

but you see my point

Gus has better numbers than Orton

yeah, i like those ideas. both very good players. actually, we could take a quality LT there too. i know most people don't agree with me that we can use left tackle help, but just throwing that out there. greenway and huff are two guys i'd like to have as well.
