If the teams all around the NFL are going to now have to start dumping players that can still play.... How in the hell are they going to be able to sign all their picks also?

They're only cutting players so they can get under the cap. In doing so, they have money to spend

part of their dumping is anticipating the draft picks they have to sign

how are they going to sign these players when most of the teams now are over or pretty darn near the cap?

If your a team with say(example) 6 picks. You have one 1st rd. pick and two 2nd's. I just don't see how you can sign these guys and the players you have on your roster now without severly dumping players that you still need.

You'd have to cut veterans to make room for FAs and draft picks. You're losing, then you're gaining

Does'nt the nfl tell teams how much money to put aside for the draft? The rookie pool?

Good question... We all know about cutting players to get under the cap,
but as far as signing draft picks, each team is given a rookie "pool"
with which to sign their draft picks.
The problem is that this is the last CAPPED year, so draft picks will have to settle for less money than usual.
The reason is because teams will want to protect themselves against
huge signing bonuses/guaranteed money.

Who is really looking out more for themselves?

It seems to me that Upshaw and his whole group of idiots seem more intent on getting money for themselves... at least for this year anyway a LOT of big names are gonna get cut so teams can get under the cap... because of the limited cap, a lot of big names wont be signed to the contracts they 'deserve' and a lot of guys that are worth a lot are gonna be cut short of what they are due... I think that the players would fuss less over revenue sharing so that they can have a higher cap and get paid better... instead, its like Upshaw and his butt buddies are just looking out for themselves and the profits they will reap... today is gonna get ugly, and its all over 4%:fire: ... I fear my fellow Dolphans that the NFL is going to revert into another baseball/hockey league:boohoo:...this year is gonna be like watching the Replacements without Keanu Reeves, lol... I wouldnt mind seeing a bunch of rookies play, but its gonna take a lot of the excitement factor out of the NFL...

You won't be able to spread out signing bonuses

past four years...for those who have the top couple of picks in the draft think about the consequences of that.

I don't trust Gene Upshaw and I think the Players Union are being far to greedy!!!!!!!!!

IMO, the owners MUST take a stand before the Players Union gains total control of the owners and the league! The player salaries are out of control.
