I was curious about the swapping of Wes Welker for N.E.'s 2nd and 7th, did we get Beck with that pick or Satele?

And who was choosen in the 7th?

I think either player we got in the 2nd will make us ask Wes who? in two years. Nothing against Wes, I personally liked him, but Beck and Satele will be solid future foundations for the Dolphins

It was indeed big Sam we got with the second, and Abraham Wright with the seventh.
Regardless of how Wright pans out, I REALLY like the trade-off of Welker for Satale.

The thing I like most about Satele is his attitude. I remember at the Combine he got in a dude's throat during the mirror drill and the coach had to stop the drill. He's agressive, and it would be nice to hear that a Dolphins' lineman had anasty streak in him wouldn't it? It has been a while...............maybe he'll turn out like Olen Kruetz, he played for the Rainbow Warriors right?

Right Ocean, wrong extreme. Kruetz (Olin) actually played at Washington.

I think Samson has some attitude, hopefully just enough. He does have a great work ethic

Yeah, I remember asking this question in the ESPN forum: Who is the better center for US. Samsom Satele or Ryan Kalil?

I said that because Satele is more of a phone booth player........where hes best in tight quarters, and can go toe to toe with guys. Whereas Kalil was more of a technician, who could be overpowered by two gappers. I wonder what resonse I'll get in this forum.

No offense to ESPN, but I would put the guru's on this board against any of those guys.
Actually, not sure about the Phone-booth thing. Sam is a great physical guy, but also pretty nimble for a 300lber. I see him clearing out a guy at the line, then still getting to the MLB. Have to wait and see.

Before you rookies get all up about Sat, you might pause and observe how he does with PADS ON!!!!Geezzzuss:err:

Supposedly we'll be running with a great deal of pulling Guards. I remember cam saying that........that was the reason Hadnot moved back to G. So guys like him can pull, and leave Satele as pendulum/rock guy where if he can be stout there it allows the otuside runs to work. Also I figured it this way because Ronnie is a good inside runner and Satele strength would be an asset in those scenarios.

I think Satale apears to have everything we want in our Offensive line. With him being a rookie and starting at the most important position on the line, there will be some growing pains but I think, when all is said and done, he will be an excellent pickup for the PHINS

aggression is good looking like the bengals is not

[mod]Please don't circumvent the profanity filter[/mod]

Hopefully he turns into a pro bowl bad *** who dominates in this league for years.

Even if Sataele turns into just a decent O-lineman for us this was still a Great deal for Miami IMO. I never understood the lovefest for Welker, I mean I know the guy had a lot of heart, but he just lacks physical talent.

ok folks. prediction time.deep down in my tummy i have a feeling carey is ready. i think he locks up lt for us. satele will go through growing pains this year but will do good. at the end of the year he will show us why we took him. he and vernon will form the anchors for this line. i think cam sits mormino but only to get him more comfortable. he takes over next year. hadnot takes a minute to readjust but gets it back quickly. shelton stinks up the joint and is replaced by one of next years draft picks.:)

Yeah, I personally liked him too, until he lost every ounce of class he had by bashing the Dolphins and saying everytime he played N.E. he stood on our sidelines and wished he was wearing a ratriots jersey. Man I cannot wait to see ZT light his scrawny*** up!
