This is what we currently have:
1st round (1)
2nd round (32)
2nd round (57) - From San Diego
3rd round (64)
4th round (96)
6th round (158)
7th round (190)
As mentioned above, this is before the 32 compensatory picks are handed out. The league hands out those 32 compensatory picks in rounds 3-7. There is no set number of which ones will end up in which round. Ten picks could end up one year in round 3, while the next year round 3 only gets one. Those picks are given to teams that lost more valuable free agents then they signed the previous years. To qualify for the formula, you need to have lost more then you signed. However, it has to be Free Agents. That means, players traded don't count, players released don't count. Actually, some actual free agents don't always qualify. The exact formula is one of the biggest secrets in the NFL. No one knows for sure how it is done.
Another thing about the draft, is that the new CBA requires there to be at least 255 selections each year. 32 selections for each team in 7 rounds, plus the 32 compensatory picks. That total equals 256 selections. However this year, three teams have forfeited selections, the Patriots, the Bengals and the Ravens. The drops the total down to 253, which is below the required amount. To fill those two slots the league pretends that there is an 8th round and starts from the beginning. So, in this fictional 8th round, Miami would select first, and St. Louis would select 2nd. What does that mean? It means Miami will have the 254th selection of the 7th round and the Rams will have the 255th pick in the 7th round and conclude the draft.
So while Miami technically only has 7 picks as of this day, we will have at least one more since they need to fill out the draft.
As for the numbers I posted above, the picks in round 1-3 are set. Rounds 4-7 will shift a bit once those compensatory picks are handed out.
