I've been wondering what could've been with the draft. In round 1 if Levi Brown fell to us would we have taken him over ginn. If kolb was on the table in round 2 would we take him over beck. If Kalil fell to us would we have selected him instead of satele and in the 6th round if blades had fallen 4 more picks would we have taken him instead of kelvin smith. comments.....

Draft is over, and this thread should probably be in the "draft" forum.

I personally don't think we would have taken Levi Brown over Ted Ginn Jr. I think the decision was made prior to the draft that Vernon Carey was taking over left tackle duties...and that Ted Ginn Jr. was the player they thought could have the most immediate impact.

Levi Brown may not start at any position with the Cards this year. At least to begin this season. It sounds like they have changed their mind. The first word was that they would use Gandy at gaurd but now they are saying he will indeed be starting at LT and Oliver Ross will move to RT.

Russ grimm has hands full of talent on the Arizona OL. I have lived in Phoenix since before the Cardinals moved here and I don't ever remember the Cardinals having too much talent on the OL. The latest word is if a couple of the OL who didn't perform well last year don't take big pay cuts, they are gone. And these are guys that were expected to start.

Anyway, Levi isn't impressing them enough yet, I think it is a really good thing we didn't end up with him. Actually I don't think they ever had any intention of drafting him no matter what.

The one that I want to know is if we would have taken Kalil. I think we should have traded up 2 to 4 spots to take him. He will be a great center,he's much better than Satele. Thats the only move in the draft that I'm very pissed about.

I don't know if he'll be starting, but I know Brown will be the RT in AZ. And everything I read about thier mini-camp was that he looked extremely good on the right side.

Based on what though? I like Kalil too, but I think Satele fits our system better and we didn't need to trade up to get him.

I didn't want to touch Kolb or use a top ten pick on Brown either. Just my 2 cents.

That decision may have been with the thinking that Brown would be gone, much like targeting Beck in the second because they knew Quinn would not be there. same with Satale, nobody thought Kalil would last till the 59th pick so its very conceivable we had targets based on who we thought would be there and if another person dropped than we would take the better prospect.
Maybe the Phins had a fairly good feeling that Brown would be gone, much like Joe Thomas so they decided before the draft that there was no chance to get an elite LT prospect so lets move Carey.

I think we may have taken Brown over Ginn. There was a rumor from an inside source on the Dolphins that HH really liked Brown. There is no way to know if Cam/Ram shared that opinion though. And by draft day it seemed very unlikely that Brown would be available at #9 anyways.

As for the others, I don't see any reason to believe we would have taken Kolb above Beck, Edwards or Quinn. I don't think he was even a consideration. I think Satale was our choice over Kalil. I had Kalil rated slightly higher but my guess is that HH preferred Satale for his system.

i'm not second guessing any picks because these players weren't available come our pick. im just curious if anyone knows if the Dolphins favored a player over the other. if you think its a stupid thread why comment?
