I Pity the Fool
Okay guys, lets all take a deep breath. I was just as stunned as you were with the Quinn passing, but now that we are getting into the second, I can see where we are going, and its really not so bad. We are not throwing darts at a barn, or just groping in the dark here.
Ginn is a major playmaker with potential through the roof, and, oddly, not a big bust factor. Why? His return ability will provide an instant boost to us, and its something he will provide even if he sits out of camp with the foot. And also he can play CB is he just-doesnt-get-it at WR. And even without aceing our system, he still just has to line up and get tossed to deep and he becomes a huge deep threat. We havent had a dynamic guy like this since Clayton. Its a great pick. As for the foot, whatever. Its a sprain and those always take alot of time to heal. But unlike Petersons collarbone, its not a repeating injury. Once hes over it, hes over it and its done. He doesnt have an injury history, and his small size isnt a concern as his speed and agility keeps him from taking many hits. We will not be dissapointed with him, and you will all be cheering as he takes his first punt/kick/catch to the house.
And Beck obviously was the linchpin. For whatever reason, Miami thought Beck was not a big drop from Quinn. Im not sure why, but hell, Randy has had very good sucess in the past with non first round QBs, so I guess I can give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.
With the 60 we could take someone like Kalil or Satele, helping our OLine, or take a defender like Woodley. Suddenly our draft makes sense and looks pretty good. Lets see how we do with the rest of these picks now and just take some deep breaths. I think we will be OK.
