Okay guys, lets all take a deep breath. I was just as stunned as you were with the Quinn passing, but now that we are getting into the second, I can see where we are going, and its really not so bad. We are not throwing darts at a barn, or just groping in the dark here.

Ginn is a major playmaker with potential through the roof, and, oddly, not a big bust factor. Why? His return ability will provide an instant boost to us, and its something he will provide even if he sits out of camp with the foot. And also he can play CB is he just-doesnt-get-it at WR. And even without aceing our system, he still just has to line up and get tossed to deep and he becomes a huge deep threat. We havent had a dynamic guy like this since Clayton. Its a great pick. As for the foot, whatever. Its a sprain and those always take alot of time to heal. But unlike Petersons collarbone, its not a repeating injury. Once hes over it, hes over it and its done. He doesnt have an injury history, and his small size isnt a concern as his speed and agility keeps him from taking many hits. We will not be dissapointed with him, and you will all be cheering as he takes his first punt/kick/catch to the house.

And Beck obviously was the linchpin. For whatever reason, Miami thought Beck was not a big drop from Quinn. Im not sure why, but hell, Randy has had very good sucess in the past with non first round QBs, so I guess I can give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

With the 60 we could take someone like Kalil or Satele, helping our OLine, or take a defender like Woodley. Suddenly our draft makes sense and looks pretty good. Lets see how we do with the rest of these picks now and just take some deep breaths. I think we will be OK.

i agree with you..i was shocked we didn't take brady quinn but we needed a playmaker with speed and ted ginn definitely will help stretch the field..my feeling is that mueller and cameron liked beck just as much as quinn so i'm ok with it..they watch film and worked them all out so i got no problem with it..

This is shaping up as a very nice draft for the Fins. There are a lot of verrrry negative people around here...

Passing on Quinn was the right move. He was ranked higher than he should have been. Why did so many other teams also pass on him? It's not a coincidence...

We need to get some O-linemen now and see what we can get for our gimpy ex-QB...

Pass on Ginn - bad pick. Good pick of Beck. The rest of the draft will tell the rest.

I like the pick of Beck because a lot of draftniks were high on him but I still don't like the pick of Ginn instead of Quinn especially because the draftniks on here were high on Quinn as well and were hoping that he fell to 9.
I wouldn't have minded the Ginn pick at all had Quinn not been there. Hopefully we can get Kalil and Doug Free with our next 2 picks.

Well Staley is gone already and as far as whom we have gotten, if your looking for the midget small size team then we are now #1 The first time ginn goes close to the middle his career is over as far as beck goes, if we hike him the bal in shoutgun he's good, if he has to drop back perhaps he can get on ronnie's shoulder and see over the offensive line to make a pass. Otherwise they will get batted down.

Many of the draftniks (Especially Boomer/CK) were quite high on Ginn. I think to many people are getting clouded by the foot issue. Yes its been awhile and its still hurt, but thats the nature of ankle sprains. They take a long time to heal. But unlike Petersons collar it wont be a recurring injury.

Obviously our FO people werent nearly as high on Quinn as we and most others thought they were. I dont know why, but the fact he fell so far says that they werent alone. Personally I loved Quinn, I still feel let down somewhat, but not because we got Ginn, but because we didnt take BQ. Ginn would have easily been my second choice.
TBH I consider Levi Brown at 5 a bigger reach than Ginn at 9. Very strong chance either the Niners or Rams snap him up.
