I see no other strategy to employ, other than best player available. You do not want to pass up the next Lawrence Taylor, just because we have several good pass rushers. Is there any reason to have any other strategy?

It is all Hickey has talked about for the last few months...

But what is best player available is different for each team based on their own personal evaluation...so we will never really know if who they drafted is BPA or filling a need or both...

Yes, definitely who your team (scouting department, GM, etc...) views as the best player available, not us on this forum, Mel Kiper or even Mike Mayock.

I agree.... BPA. If it's a WR, CB, OT, LB, whatever; have to pick the best player on the board. I remember reading that the Dolphins had a higher grade on Vince Wilfork in 2004 than Vernon Carey but decided that O-line was a bigger need and picked Carey 2 picks ahead of Wilfork.

Just pick the best player on your board.

Well, yeah.... I wasn't trying to point out the players that we missed on cuz every team has those. I was just pointing out that Wilfork was rated higher by the team but wasn't selected bcuz we had a bigger need.
