Draft Tek 7 round mock draft

My perfect draft is in my Sig. I made it before the senior bowl. I should change the Stanton part because he has solidified his stock as at least a 2nd rounder IMO.

Replace Stanton with Kolb and then it makes sense.

I thought Levi Brown was considered a RT by everyone.

If that's the case, we already have one of those (Carey) and he's one of the bright spots on our OL. It looks like to me if Thomas doesn't fall to us (obviously he's not going to) there aren't any other OL that are worth the 9th pick.

Only a couple of people considered he would play RT in the NFL because of the perceived to be a weakness in pass protection. Brown showed in the bowl game against Tennessee and last week during Senior Bowl week that it simply is not the case. He did have some trouble the first day but that was about it.

If we passed on Carriker or Staley to draft Harris in the 2nd I would snap

not to mention you could trade down and get another FS in Merriweather (local boy) instead. He looks like he is a baller.

Not everyone.

Brown is a LT. And absolutely is a solid pick at 9.

Wow actually I like this, Especially Tim Shaw in the 4th and David Ball in the 6th..Oh yeah and Kalil in the second isnt bad either. I dont like taking Brown in the first AND Kalil in the second though. Although a major weakpoint, too much emphasis on the Oline.

Outstanding Alex, 3 of your 4 predics made the list....

I hope so, reports are somewhat conflicting but it seems that the consensus is that you are correct. I like the idea of trading down for an extra 3rd and picking up a receiver a bit later in the first, particularly Rice and Bowe, maybe Meachem. Any thoughts, or do you think that Brown is the way to go?

p.s. I read your short story- interestng and quite visceral. I won't be eating ribs for a while. The horror.

Mobile confirmed what most of us knew - that he was a solid LT prospect.

Certainly the trade down option is appealing - isn't it always - but talking about it and getting it done are usually two very different beasts. What you probably will find is that teams will look to get in front of us if Brady Quinn starts to fall. Not necessarily because we'll take him, but because of the THREAT that we'll take him.

I think Meacham and Bowe have the potential to be very good WR's. The ceiling is high on the pair of them. Rice I have some issues over, but he too has talent.

Short story? The slaughterhouse thing?

That be it. I didn't get the Tolstoy reference- I haven't read Tolstoy. I'm slightly emabarrassed to say that it seems more like a chore than anything else, probably my own ignorance talking. The last epic that I attempted to read was Atlas Shrugged- I lasted about 800 pages until Rand went bonkers during that 50 page John Galt speech, blah blah blah.

I did read a little Dostoevsky (great if your goal is existential depression) and Lermontov's A Hero of Our Time, which I liked very much. If I have the balls for it I'll try to sink my teeth into Anna Karenina- the first chapter was enjoyable enough, with the cheating husband unintentionally smiling when caught. Maybe this cat will turn out to be interesting.

Reports vary on most all players. Everyone has some fault. If anyone thinks that Jemarcus Russell will not experience some setbacks are just kidding themselves. Some stick, others fall by the wayside. My opine on Levi is the guy can play LT. A reach to most people is taking a guy too high. IMO, taking a true LT at #9 is not too high. In fact, I am not sure why people are so bent on Joe Thomas being an absolute head and shoulders above Brown. Its just something that sticks when it comes to opinions.

I like what Mike Mayock said. Levi passes the eyeball test at LT. He just wishes that he could see that out of Levi on each and every play. Which some people take it as he screws up from time to time. Well, I would bet that Dbrickshaw Ferguson screwed up a few times this year. He still played at a high level and will be entrenched at that spot for many years. Levi Brown is the same deal. Levi is a pancake blocker. Is a leader. His pass blocking can improve, but once he locks onto someone, its over. That alone to me spells on our way to a successful offense.

I would say this bottom line. If we can get Dielman in FA, Brown at #9, and a Khalil in round 2, I would gaurrantee that Ronnie Brown will have 1500 yards + rushing. That alone will make our defense that much better in the hot florida sun (for 7 games. ouch!).
