I have heard a lot of talk on Martin out of Notre Dame and I guess I am just not sold on him. I would prefer us to draft David Yankey out of Stanford and Xavier Su'a-Filo out of UCLA and we have 2 guards that can start on day 1, then we can sign Albert at LT and another vet free agent for RT and would be set.

I am just not sold on any of the tackles that will be available if we are up. Why not draft 2 guards and put a vet like Albert on the LT who is experienced? It would just be nice to actually draft Best player available instead of reaching year after year.

Thoughts?

The thing with Zack Martin is you can draft him int the first round and you have either a guard for either side or a RT and future LT if he plays well enough. That gives you leeway to get the best guy in next round when they want a lineman be it a tackle or a guard. Any guard in the draft is gonna be a reach at 19. In the second round i could see up to 3 or 4 of the top guards still available when the phins pick. At the same time if you have Martin and all those guards have come off the board the other tackles such as Moses or Hurst should be there to get

I am not envisioning a 1st round pick used on either one of these, but if we could trade back in the 1st round to get another 2nd and get both of them while still drafting late in the 1st round I think we would be better off.

To me trading down in the first would be the best case. Like you said you can still get the 2 lineman that can start week 1 and get that extra pick for possible TE, RB, DT

If the Dolphins are able to get Albert in free agency, then that really opens up the draft for Miami. The Dolphins could go best player in the 1st, which might include Mosley, Ealy, Lewan, Dobson, Ebron etc. Lots of possibilities other than offensive line.

If Miami takes Martin at #19, I assume the team would be looking at him as a LT. Otherwise, I agree with you as far as trading down and getting more picks.

I like Xavier Su'a-Filo a lot for the LG spot. Let me caution all you Dolphin fans on Branden Albert. He has a bad back and he will be 30 when the season starts. I would prefer Eugene Monroe. I want to see David Yankey run and lift at the Combines before I am sold on him. BTW I am not sure Miami wants to draft another Stanford Offensive Lineman right now.

I would take the best lineman available at either position in round 1 and round 2. Normally I would always go with BPA but since our need for lineman is insane I think this is different.

I would get at least 2 O-line starters in Free Agency, 3 if possible. Then let the draft play itself out.

I am with you on that notion with Strief being #1 candidate for RT. He can be easily fleeced from NO. I also wouldnt mind Jordan Gross even though he is 34. The man can still play and he might come cheaper and still just as good. We have choices there. But Martin is real nice cus he could be probowl G with the ability to play backup LT. Finding another G in the draft is not a problem particularly in this draft.

Jordan Gross has entered my picture. yeah, 34. But any bad back probs? If he doesnt play like he's 34, you can prob get him cheaper.
