does anyone know that stats of Which teams have a QB that is starting that they drafted themselves vs teams that have a QB through FA or via trade?... I rather draft a QB... it need not be 1st because we all know that you can get good QBs in later rounds... Maybe someone in a later round fits the type of offense we run better than someone in the first... This is all just opinion so dont murder me

The Bucs starter right now is drafted (Simms), who's 0-2. But I'll bet Tampa misses Griese, who could've solved our QB issues if Wanny gave him a better opportunity.

I'd like us to get a FA in addition to a drafted QB, preferrably in the 1st 2 rounds. If you look, McNabb, Big Ben, both Mannings, Vick, Culpepper, Plummer, Favre, and Brees were drafted in the first 2 rounds and each helped their team to at least a few playoff experiences. Guys like Delhomme and Brady are probably anomalies considering how many other lower drafted QBs aren't doing well (i.e. Feeley, Sage?, John Navarre, Simms, Jeff Smoker, and the list goes on). And now that GM's are looking at character and intangibles, disasters like Ryan Leaf and Tim Couch are fewer.

Dilfer, Green, Hasselbeck and Brunell were all traded for. Plummer was a F/A.

Why do everyone screw up on ELI he was TRADED
 
I like the idea of draftinga QB, makes him and us fans feel more like he's a franchise player, that or an early career trade like between GB and ATL for Brett Farve, or TB and SF for Young. But the QB we all take the most pride in is Dan Marino, and he was always a Dolphin. I just don't like FA QBs unless it's really a gem of a QB.

Drafted 1st pick in the 04 draft by the Chargers, he did not wanna play for them (Smart move, cause he could be in Phil Rivers position right now)
I believe Eli specifically said, he wanted to be a Giant. Here's my question tho, was Rivers drafted by the NY Giants, and traded for Eli Manning?

Yes, the trade was made after Rivers was drafted by the giants.

I screwed up on it........just slipped my mind. It's easy to forget simply because he was a Charger for only about an hour.

More importantly though......why do everyone screw up on ENGLISH!!! ;)
 
Anyway, by what was posted.......

16 QB's were DRAFTED
6 were TRADED for
10 were FREE AGENTS

Of the top 16 scoring teams in the league this year.....only 7 drafted their starting QB. So it's not the only way to go about things.....although it would certainly be my choice at this point.

I heard on Espn that giants did a good job by drafting him in the 4th overall spot...

I was like WTH he got traded for many players dont remember the exact particulars
