Ted Ginn Jr. is a luxury type pick. He has amazing speed for special teams (hester) and is a decent wr. Teams such as the bears, colts, patriots, ravens could draft him. We unfortunately DO NOT have the luxury of taking a luxurious pick like ginn. We have more glaring needs like the foundation of a football team- offensive and defensive lines. From there, quarterback and linebackers and THEN the big play threat at wr and cb. We honestly don't even have a #1 receiver. If we drafted bowe, jarret, or even a rice id feel more comfortable than ginn. Ginn just wasn't consistent enough at wide receiver to warrant this high of a draft pick. Teams that are already set at key positions can take a chance on ginn and it wont even matter if he develops into a 3rd or slot widereciever. For us, if he doesnt turn out into a #1 wideout it is not worth out while..

just something to ponder on

and for those idiots that are going to try and rebuttal, i am not saying id take bowe jarret or rice 9th overall i'm saying i would rather have them than ginn. whether that means trading down in the 1st round, or rice or bowe falling to us round 2. If none of those scenarios take place, its BRANCH, OKOYE, ANDERSON, LANDRY, or NELSON.

Im beginning to think trade a 4th with Booker to OAK for Jerry Porter that way we are able to draft Levi Brown at #9.

We need to take care of WR and OLB "before" the draft. This way we can use both our 1st two rounds on LT and LG/C.

No way to Porter. He is not a gamer! He is all hype and no bite!

DUDE, i said take the BIG PLAY WR AFTERRRRR we take care of more important needs. Other teams can draft small speedsters who didnt really put up the NUMBERS of a wr #1 in college. WE, at this time, need to take sure hit players in our defensive front 7 because there isn't anyone worthy on offense at #9 pick unless calvin johnson, joe thomas or jamarcus russel fall...

i hate the fans that only want big name skill players. There is a reason the Broncos and Chiefs have great running games and it isn't because of their running backs...they do have good-amazing rbs but they keep plugging rbs back there and they consistently put up 1000 yards whether its terrel davis, reuben droughns, tatum bell, clinton portis, or larry johnson. You build a solid offensive and defensive line and then you can draft all the high quality skill players at wide receiver, defensive back, and special teams that you want.

TED GINNS NUMBERS IN COLLEGE DO NOT WARRANT the #9 overall pick!!! HE is a mediocre wide receiver in college!!! YOU just want him for his A)speed, B) special teams. well we dont have the luxury to adress our special teams at this time....so basically you want a mediocre 6 foot with great speed wide out 9th overall...give me a break

You didn't mention Hagan. Hagan is easily capable of replacing Booker. Chambers is still the top WR. Welker is the slot guy. So Ginn Jr. would fit perfect splitting time with Hagan and returning kicks.

Derek Hagan is just as good of a prospect for the future as Jarrett. In fact, Hagan may be ready to start this year. As far as Bowe goes, Hagan is better and might even be faster. We don't need another receiver of this type. We need a burner and this kid Ginn is that and more. To say he can run after the catch would be huge understatement. Do the Oakland trade and get Porter if we can. If we can't, our main target should be that 2nd round pick anyway.

I do a agree with most of what you said. Hagan is going to be a good #2 WR. We have our #1 WR in Chambers. I know he isn't as consistent as we all would like, but he hasn't had a consistent QB throwing to him to let him get consistent. He has the talent to be a #1 guy. I think Ginn could be the next Steve Smith. I don't want to compare him to Smith because that will put way too much pressure on Ginn from the start. That being said, I only want the Dolphins to draft Ginn if (a) no one better falls (i.e. Quinn) and (b) we can't find any trading partners to grab anyone who falls, or who just want our pick to begin with. Although I want to draft Levi Brown, I'm starting to realize drafting him at #9 doesn't make much sense. If either a or b happens, I say no to Ginn. If they both don't, I say yes to Ginn.

Oh, btw, trading for Porter would be a terrible move. The guy has talent, but you do not want him on your team because of his baggage.
