is most certainly a risky business..... I have all the confidence in the world that Saban knows what to do with the defense, but how much does he or Mueller know about qb talent? What i'm saying is, how can we be sure we're drafting the next..... Drew Brees instead of the next Patrick Ramsey or Kyle Boller.

since we don't have a top pick, leinart is pretty much out of the question.... and all these mid 1st rd qbs over the years have been historically 50/50 on boom/bust.

So, anyone know what Qb's Mueller has drafted in the past?

I think Saban will do a good job drafting a solid QB for us. I just hope we don't get a bust.

First round QB means about a 23% chance you get an elite guy, and about a 38% chance you get a guy who proves worthy of the first round pick, or better than that. Source: a pool of 31 first round picks taken between 1990 and 2004.

Second round QBs, taken from a sample of only 13 guys, means about a 7% chance of being elite, but with a 23% chance the guy turns out to be worthy of a FIRST round pick or better. Source: a pool of 13 second round picks taken between 1990 and 2004.

Draft a guy third round and below, you have about a 3% chance of getting an elite guy, and about a 6% chance hitting on a guy who is worthy of a first round pick or better. Source: a pool of 134 third round and below picks taken between 1990 and 2004.

Ramsey got shafted in Washington IMO.

He was doing great 2 years ago until he got hurt, and Joe Gibbs never had his back.

Even after Ramsey has outperformed Brunell two straight years in camp, Gibbs would rather play Brunell (when Ramsey got hurt earlier this year, which wasn't even a serious injury, Gibbs had a reason not to play him. Lucking for Gibbs, Brunell started off hot)

Mueller is a qb guru! He had Aaron Brooks, Jake Delhomme and Marc Bulger at the same time in New Orleans. I am extremely confident that if we don't make a qb in the first round, Mueller has his eye on someone.

Man did the saints screw up that decision...they could have Delhomme or Bulger now...

I've never seen anything from Ramsey.... besides, Brunell has had a pretty good season...

anyway, besides that, i expect Saban to try and get some more picks on the first day of the draft... so, you gotta think that some proven veteran is gonna get traded.... Madison?.. i just hope Thomas and Taylor are kept.

Jake D, is not that great, he's nothin without Steve Smith. Bulger woulda been their best bet.

you're crazy! i would take Delhomme and Bulger over Brooks in a heart beat... and Delhomme is the only one i would be pretty confident with.

ill take Aaron Brooks over either of them

You seem like such a Aaron Brooks fanboy right now, he's really no good look at how long he's had his chance there, he's pushin 30 and hasn't accomplished anything worthwhile. He'll finish as a journeyman maybe unless he does a Doug Peterson and rides one bench forever

4 of 5 seaons Brooks started he threw for 3500 yards

2 of those seasons he threw 3800 yards

Thats nothing?

how many interceptions and bonehead plays does Aaron Brooks have? you can take your passing yards all you like, i'll take the good decision making.

Kyle Boller sucks i'll give you that one but the other two are debatable. Patrick Ramsey with the right coaching could be a star in this leauge. He was drafted by Spurrier and we all know how far his coaching got him. He got shafted by Gibbs this season and i think he will play well for whatever team grabs him in the off season.

Brooks seems like a great talent without a great work ethic, from what I've heard. He tends to make all the stupid mistakes he possibly could to lose a game, while still putting up pretty decent stats. Delhomme and Bulger play smarter, from what I've seen.
