Is his suspension over....and what do you think the new regime will do with him. He has wasted much time and talent, but perhaps a year away will have helped him mature (wishful thinking I know).

I'm in the minority but I would bring him to camp although id prefer he cut weight and got the athlete back

why would we not at least let him come to camp?

we are not exactly deep at linebacker

It would be the stupidest thing in the world for Miami to cut him now, when they could of easily done this last season. Only way he is cut is if he does something malicious before camp.

Not expecting much, but would like to see him get the opportunity to prove me wrong.

I'm hoping he's motivated to prove his worth to himself and the team. I liked that he was multi-dimensional and could be moved around to several spots along the front seven. If the new D.C. does run a hybrid front, Dion could potentially provide great flexibility.

I bring him to camp. If it does not pan out, I would call the Niners and see what I could get out of them and Chip. But I think he needs a mentor and someone to give him an actual position. Got tired of hearing about the staff not knowing how to use him.

That. Maybe Gase & VJ can actually get him motivated? Further, if OV and Wake move on; depth at DE is sketchy.

He either gets his head on straight and becomes the player Miami drafted him to be or he gets in trouble again with the substance abuse policy and Miami gets out of paying him a dime and moves on.

I know people have their opinions about him, that he should never wear a Fins uni' ever again, cut his arse now, yadda yadda, and I respect that, but if we can bring him to camp up until a said date without owing him money, I would definitely take a look before shipping him out.
For a 3rd overall pick, I think the team should feel obligated to honor the severity of that mistake/decision and not cast him off so freely or without any kind of compensation just because "he's a bum" and a "previous regime blunder".
We need to come out good on Dion in some form (or at least Try to), be it him here or not. Get something out of it.

See what he's got... cut him if necessary.

draft day trade is my guess

A new, much younger, coaching staff might be able to deal with him more effectively,

but a change of scenery might be best for both parties

draft day trade is my guess

I'd argue he has absolutely no trade value. That said, the GM who drafted him, and all who coached him are gone, so it's likely the new staff will bring him into camp for a look. Whether he even bothers to come in shape is a huge question I have though, the pictures he posted after his 1 year suspension of him on vacation showed a fat out of shape, out of work athlete, who did not appear to give one single ****.
