he also has charles rogers, roy willams and mike willams to throw to there.... thats tempting too....
 
Believe it or not, I think we are in a win-win situation. if we get brees we're set. if not we can get Culppeper or Cutler (if they have Brees, they wont draft a QB). And didn't Martz say that Harrington is the man in Detroit?
 
i wouldnt mind brees going to detroit ,

if we get cutler... remember brees did well

with maybe the best rb and tight end in the game

with him..
 
eh... I dont think much changes. We are a much more inviting team to play for than the Lions. Our team is looking promising, and moving in the right direction... Detroit is a mess... He would be in a great situation here. Even if they can slightly out bid us... its not like we wouldnt be offering a boat load of money also. He wants to succeed and make alot of money... he can do both in Miami. I still see us as the front runner for him...

With all that said... I would prefer Culpepper if I had the choice... :tongue:

Agreed if you were him would you sit there n think hmmm do I wanna go to Detroit (cold,dirty, nasty town) and wait god knows how long b4 we can actually make a run at a championship ORRRRRRRRR does he think hey Miami (warm, beaches, hot women) is on the verge of goin to the top, they have a bunch of good players and a coach who really has his head on straight... Hopefully Brees will see it that way too and we can pray his shoulder doesnt turn out to be like Penningtons...
 
It does hurt our chances but I think Drew Brees wants to win and he knows Miami has a history of winning and Detroit hasn't even been in a Superbowl I think.

If he makes his choice on dollars alone he will be wearing a Lions jersey if he weighs out a lot more options then he might think twice before signing with Detroit.
 
More money versus a better shot at a Super Bowl, that is what Brees must decide. If he prefers the money, I'd rather not have the guy in Miami anyway.

It looks as though the Lions will get 2-3 choice FA players with the cap space they have, but really... is that enough to make them a playoff team? Or a winning organization?

He saw first hand what we can do this season

If he wants to play for the Lions instead then I dont want him, because he has poor decision making, not something I want in my QB
 
It shouldn't change much for us at all. Remember that we are talking about the Lions here folks. There will go no where with their brainless GM.
 
YOu would have to be a moron to choose Detroit over Miami. The onyl way i could see him going there instead of here would be is if Detroit outbid us by a significant amount. They have too many holes to pay Brees enough to play for that crappy franchise which is going NO WHERE. Did any of you see there last couple games of the season where the home fans were rooting against the Lions and holding signs trying to rid Matt Millen? That franchise is in dissary and there is no way Brees chooses them over us, and if he does, do you really want a guy who plays for money anyway?
