I was so bored that I watched some European football today. Drew Henson was alternating with Chang. Henson was absolutely terrible. He had happy feet, and couldn't do anything north-south. All the passes that I saw were to checkdowns at the sideline.

In the middle of watching this debacle, I realized who I was watching. Wasn't it just a year ago that people were hoping we would trade for his rights? I can remember being in S.FL for business and hearing Mandich, who I like, talk about Henson being the real deal.

I'm so glad we didn't grab that prospect. How many of you were screaming for this guy? It seems we are all perfect GMs on the message boards. I dare to say that trading for this guy would have been as bad as the Feeley trade.

It would have been as bad if we traded a 2nd round pick that is the only way. Dallas traded a third round pick, which was not even a high third round pick and signed the guy to a relatively cheap contract, the exact opposite of what we did with Feeley. I was a proponent trading for him but not a first day pick.

I thought he had alot of talent and I was a fan of his, suprised he hasnt panned out, Ill admit it

I watched Drew play a little bit today on the network. Dude moves his feet like he's muhammad ali...not in a good way though.

So far this season in NFLE, Henson is 96/170 1149 yds. 9 TDs 3 INTs and the second ranked passer overall.

Compare that with Brock Berlin who is 60/122 563 yds. 3 TDs and 6 INTs.

yea, i remember all the hundreds of threads about us needing to get him ( some even at all costs!!??) ... and i donht think i responded to a single one...

Well we would not have had Feeley and probaly would still have our second if we had traded for Henson.

Feeley was the last resort that offseason. The first option was Brunell, which would have made a ton of sense for us and was a guy I thought could put us over the hump. We expected him to be released, but Washington grabbed him up for a draft pick. That lead to us trying to get Ramsey, which I also was very excited about but that never happened (For the record, not dealing him was a foolish move on Washington's part, even considering how Brunell stunk his first year). The next was Henson, but we wanted a guy with some experience. Feeley seemed to come out of nowhere that year and was really mildy dissapointing at the time, not just in hindsight.

I guess we just outbid ourselves for Feeley's services.

I haven't seen him play but he has good numbers.

The original poster made it sound like he was a double of Brock Berlin over there but that clearly IS NOT the case.

Putting up good numbers in NFL Europe does not mean you are a good QB, although I would say bad numbers are probably a sign you are bad. What the poster was trying to say was that Henson didn't have the poise or fundamentals to be an NFL caliber QB, even though he has a lot of natural ability.
