What do you guys think of Drew Olson? He's the QB for undefeated UCLA. In the last 2 games he has thrown 11 TD and only 1 INT:eek:. If he keeps this up against USC he can shoot himself all the way up to the 1st round.

hmm haven't reallly seen him play. jr or sr?

He's a senior but has been very unheralded, probably because of Leinart/Bush and USC taking all the college football publicity in L.A. I thought UCLA was garbage until I saw them ranked in the top 10 in the BCS rankings this week.

As far as UCLA QB's, he somewhere between Cade McKnown and Troy Aikman.

I'm not sure what you mean by that comparison, Cade McNown was literally a "Bust" and Troy Aikman is an ALL-time great QB.

Just covering my bases. Brady Quinn made me a believer against USC. Drew has never impressed before this season. If he takes down USC then we'll see.

I watch a lot of UCLA football and prior to this year he has been average to below. He hurt his knee in a bowl game last year and decided to re-dedicate himself to football, (which could've been because UCLA signed a redshirt freshman who is touted to be the next coming of Aikman). Anyway, Oleson dropped 15 pounds and has had an outstanding year. My concern with him would be that this has been the only year he has excelled. Also, UCLA's offense is pretty pheonominal and might be making him look better then he is. (See Mercedes Lewis, Maurice Jones-Drew). My prediction is he is a middle to late round pick, but as someone previously commented, if he knocks off USC and plays well he could move way up. (I don't think UCLA has much of a chance against USC, considering UCLA has the number 113th ranked run defense).

I'm a UCLA fan, so I've seen all his games. He was a very mediocre QB up until this season. This year, he's playing with a purpose and a lot more confidence. He manages the game well and has led a few miracle comebacks .

Even so, I still think he's a Day 2 pick. I just don't see him as an NFL starter. He'll probably be a solid career back-up.

Merrill Hoge was highlighting him today on "Football Friday" (ESPNEWS) and he looked very good. He made some nice passes and reads. He does have talented players around him like Mercedes and Drew, but so does Leinart. He is having a breakout year though, 119.1 QB rating, 21 TDs and 3 ints. Even if he has a really good game against USC, I still think he will still be in the Dolphins range in the 1st round because of his knee injury.

Weren't you the one with the thread on Quinton Porter yesterday. How in the **** did you know who that guy was? You're the last person I would expect this from.

Nah man, he's not a first rounder. If he beats USC, has a great bowl game, kicks some major a$$ at the Senior Bowl, and has an outstanding combine -- he might sneak into the 2nd round. Of course, doing all that would be nearly impossible. He's a 4th-7th round type prospect at this point.

QBs draft stock tend to rise because of their position. I remember Phillip Rivers had a great senior seaon, bowl game, and senior bowl, and he went all the way up to the 4th pick in the draft.
