Drew Rosenhaus who is the agent of both Butler and Alphonso Smith said tonight on Sports Xtra that he believes both his clients Butler and Smith will be selected before Miami picks. Personally I would love either in the 1st and I think Alphonso Smith is gonna be an incredible player in the NFL. He siad Clay Matthews or Kenny Britt are more likely to come to Miami than Butler and Smith.

Look the fact that Drew is Butler and Smith agent says alot and I think he is trying to build their stock up. I think one or the other will be there at 25 if not both and they have a good chance of being selected by us.

I think if Miami player is not there at 25 they will be doing everything to trade down.

Drew also said that the Dolphins will "absolutely" draft a WR at #25. Why do you guys bother listening to sports agents? They say anything to benefit their clients and line their own pockets with frogskins.

are they his clients...YES
enough said........

EXACTLY!!!! Who has a financial incentive in his clients going as early as possible? : Drew Rosenhaus.

I wouldn't be shocked if he slipped a large manila envelope with $100 bills to McShay and Kiper to pump up his clients up as much as possible. :lol2:

If I was Drew Rosenhaus client he'd say I'd go earlier then 25. He's just talking up his clients.

Bingo. He's just doing his job, and that's to get his client's name(s) out there.

Isn't that all his Sports Xtra show ever is?

What is he gonna say 'Look both players should be there at #25, heck the Fins could probably get Smith at #44, maybe even #56." That is a quick way to get fired as their agent.

With Jenkins and Davis both falling on many mocks I have seen, I really can not see Smith getting near the 1st round. Butler would be a good bet for the Fins however.

Lots of ways of looking at this...one way is to say he's building his clients up...but why? Shouldn't his clients play be enough? Seems to me he's worried...and is doing his best to artifically increase their and his pay.

Drew is no dummy....this is a very weak CB draft...there's as much value in a mid to late corner than those that may be selected in the first or second round.
Just look at the corners the Dolphins have brought in...many are mid-late to free agent types...thats should tell you all you need to know.

I just chuckle when I read arguments or threads that have " X said that this was the case." It's like for some reason when it comes to sports, people lose any sense of being able to filter through the BS. Of COURSE he's going to hype his clients. One draft slot move up makes his clients, hence, him, money.

If you are trying to sell milk, it's more effective to play up the freshness of the milk, and, talk about the limited supply. It's generally a bad tactic to try to sell milk by saying "Boy howdy...We sure have stacks of this awful tasting spoiled milk around!"

Guys...Use critical thinking. Of course agents and coaches are going to speak in glowing terms about their people. Where is the benefit to them NOT speaking in glowing terms about them?

I think A. Smith is an absolute BALL HAWK but his size might make him a liability in man coverage but he still better than D. Butler. Smith is strong and tackles properly and his vision makes him a huge threat in zone coverage. If depending on what happens with the WRs then I'd be all for drafting Smith at #25.
