Drinking the Kool-Aid?

ok, i know what kool-aid is.....i understand what the concept of drinking the kool-aid is, in regards to being a fan.......but can someone please tell me where the hell this phrase came from? honestly, i have never heard this phrase until i came onto this website. is this a phrase that has popped up recently, like how they use "pwned" on the internet........or has it been around for awhile and i have just never heard of it??


and by the way...people who use the term "pwned"......you are gay...seriously....gay....
 
It is reference to the Jonestown Cult. Jim Jones "spiked" grape kool-aid with potassium cyanide and talked the cult into "drinking the kool-aid" to kill themselves.

It is now commonly used to illustrate the fact that you are buying into what is being said even if it is outlandish.

With that being said I have DRANK the FIN Kool-Aid for my entire life!!!

COME ON PLAYOFFS!!!! Wanna sip? It's DELICIOUS!!!!

a common misnomer. in jonestown they did not drink ' kool aid' . It was actually a powder similar to, but not kool aid itself.
 
I'm a big fan of the Bill Parcell's Kool-Aid.
Not sure if its better than then that Marino-Aid we had a few years back.

Also not sure if its better then Ecto-Cooler. That has nothing to do with the fins, but that stuff was bangin. What ever happened to it?

I'm drinking kool aid with no sugar.

Until I see my Phins go on a winning streak, that's when it will get sweet!
 
The Jonestown reference is accurate. That is where the saying came from even if the product was not kool-ade brand.

It is so good to have some Kool-ade to drink rather than drown our sorrows. I am enjoying this season and being competitive again. Imagine if we would have beat the Jets and the Texans like we should have. The kool-ade would have been flowing by the gallons and probably hooked to IVs!

at this time, im doing what i used to do as a kid, put the pwder in my hands and lick it like pixie sticks. I NEED SOME WATEER AND SUGAR DANGIT!

Yep, it wasn`t 'Kool Aid' it was 'Flavor Aid' (never heard of it). It was mixture of Flavor Aid, Valium, Chloryl Hydrate, Penegram and good ole Cyanide. I just Wikipedia`d Jonestown!

Was it not??? I remember Ecto Cooler from Hi-C when I was 11. It was the truth. Some of the stuff I see kids drinking these days at school makes me feel bad for them. Although, I have to admit I often see some stuff I would like to try a sip of to see if it could match ecto cooler.
