What is a bigger dropoff?

Chris Long at # 1 vs Quentin Jones or Lawrence Jackson at #32

Jake Long at #1 vs Gosder Cherilus or Anthony Collins at #32

I would personally say Taking Chris at # 1 and Cherilus/Collins at #32 would be a better deal than Jake at #1 and Jones/Jackson at #32.

I know we could also go corner at #32 but I think we can still grab Terrel Thomas or Tyvon Branch at #57

Why when we have JT and JP already on the team? I would think a top flight LT makes more sense.

Quentin Groves I think you meant, and I would definitely go J. Long with the 1st and Groves in the 2nd. It would fill more needs for us. There will be a big run on all the good T prospects in the 1st, because the talent is so good and it's such an important position. You might be able to get a decent RT in the 2nd, but it's too important a pos. for us to ignore anymore.

Even if you could GUARANTEE Cherilus and Groves at #32 . . . I still would go Jake and Groves . . . Groves is a pure 3-4 OLB prospect . . . ideal for this team, Cherilus should be a great RT prospect . . . but we have a great RT in Carey . . . we need Jake Long as our run blocking beast LT. Chris should be fantastic on most defenses . . . hate to pass him up, but I will for Long and Groves.

However . . . u must factor in what if NEITHER are there at #32 . . . with Chris . . . I think you would still have to go BPA, which would suck because we didn't address the OL with a value guy . . . this will more likely be a reach. If u draft Jake . . . and Groves is gone . . . someone with a first round grade will be there at 32 . . . and we already addressed LT . . . so BPA is sweet.

Like I said in the other thread, I'd rather have Jake Long and Groves than Chris Long and Collins/Cherilus/Nicks.

We all know we are going to take a OT in the first two rounds, but the question is when. The way I see it, if we take Chris Long in the first, we are forced to take an OT in the second. But what if somebody good, and you know somebody good always drops, like Groves or Phillips or Connor or Cason drops? By going Jake Long in the first, we open up the possibility to go BPA and take a player with a mid/late first round grade at 32. If we go Chris Long in the first, we are almost forced to take a Collins or Nicks at 32 and probably miss out on the BPA.

Gosder Cherilus is a RT and Anthony Collins should have stayed in school.

there is talk of collins being there in the third round.
