Drug policy just passed among player reps

I understand what you're saying but if you're going to take a stand you should also elect to not watch movies, tv or listen to music because Hollywood and the music industry have endured the same list of problems for years.

Touche' and I don't. I don't watch TV. In fact I hate television programming. Nor do I care for movies as Id rather be active than plant my ass on the couch or 2-3 hours. I had direct TV for the simple purpose of watching sports and that will soon no longer be the case. I do fine without the glowing boxes of pseudo "entertainment". Without hesitation I've got to admit this site is an outlet that meets that same criteria and... I'll figure that out as well.

And hear me out, I left a public comment so I realize with that it will obviously attract public response and ridicule. So be it. I've never founded my beliefs and lifestyle by adapting it to please others, so I'm not going out of my way to start now.

Regardless of if I agree or not, I always have a degree of respect for someone who stands up for their own beliefs.

It always interests me when people decide to all of a sudden take a stand on the hot button issues when they've been supporting the same list of problems through other areas.

It's not a hot -button reaction. It's also your assumption and fallible opinion that I support these social problems in other areas. It's a culmination of what I've been immersed in as a football fan and how my actions as a man reflect on my family as a husband and parent. In no way do I care if anyone follows my lead, is in agreement to justify my personal actions or even considers what I'm doing is right or wrong.

I appreciate that others have wanted to put those tickets to better use. It just doesn't help my sentiments that Ross came out publicly in support of Goodell in wanting to do so.

And I'll say that it's not a final decision, it's just something that I feel I need to re-evaluate in what I support as a family man.

I could care less what any of these guys do in their free time, as long as i get to watch an entertaining football game come sunday they can do what they want.

And I couldn't think of anything more grotesque and ignorant in means of blind support of corruption and greed for the sake of sheer entertainment. But who am I to judge. My internet opinion is surely more worthless than the actual usefulness of someone's asshole. We're all different and that's what supposedly makes the world go round.

I'd rather not grovel and **** on everyone else's enjoyment, so I'll gladly let these slightly pitiful "holy'er than though" posts die off.

I agree. Noone cares how many times a boxer has gotten in trouble when a big fight is scheduled. Why does the media think some of this off the field stuff is such a big deal with football fans? I just want to see them play football. What they do the rest of the week is between them, the team, the league and law enforcement. I have my own life to worry about.

Likely someone who would have been inactive and not in uniform anyway. May not be someone who was going to be inactive, since we have so many players out with injury, but someone who's not in the game plan much.

I'm thinking there will be a trickle down affect. Two players like Akiens, Seamster, or Gastons, would get moved back to PS and we would drop someone from PS. But that is just a guess.

Cheaters, Drug Addicts, Drunks, Rapists, Child Abusers, Wife Beaters unit and play some football already. Woohoo! :bobdole:

I'm done with this league for a while. I need a break to re-evaluate what I'm supporting. I'm even going to eat the price of my season tickets as I would rather leave them empty.

Good riddance NFL.

Um, I think you got it backwards.

This is what the NFL was all along.

Now it has turned into a ballerina league precisely because of people like you.

The greedy owners want your money too, they're gonna have the players wearing tutus any day now to appease folks like you. :err: :chuckle:

The players get off the hook legally. If anything the NFL is doing the punishing with suspension. It's the legal systems fault. You can't boycott the NFL thinking it will change an issue.

No sir. Your comments lack sense. My qualms lay with the character of the league, not it's physical nature.

My premise (boycott, if it pleases you) is not to change anything about the NFL. That's not rational. It's simply a personal decision in shaping what I believe to be a healthier outlook on the influences I present to my family. Nothing more.

@AdamHBeasley: Remember when the league's biggest headache was a bunch of offensive linemen being mean to each other?

****ing kudos!

I would say more, but you hit the proverbial nail on head.
