A teammate left a box of tissues on his dashboard. But other than that isolated prank, rookie defensive tackle Manuel Wright said that he is using Tuesday's nationally televised spat with coach Nick Saban that left him in tears as "fuel'' to succeed.

"It was tough, but it's part of being a pro. You've got to overcome things,'' said Wright, whose balky back enabled him to practice Saturday for the first time since the incident. "Sometimes things like that puts fuel in the gas tank for me and gives me something else to overcome.''

I guess sometimes some people just need a good kick in the pants to get them going, hopefully he learns that 110% effort is the only way to go with Nick Saban and really is motivated by Tuesday's incident.

I thought this was way overblown from the start....

DT M. Wright is still a kid, and he's moving into a man's game. He didn't get to prepare during the minicamps like most of the other players did, and he's still only 21 years old. Add that to the fact he's being coached by one of the most discipline oriented HC's we've ever had, and ofcourse you're going to see alot of emotions like that coming from the young guys....

He'll learn from this experience, and in the long run it will help to mold his character on the field. saban did what had to be done in order to move him into the next phase of his development. End of story....

PHINZ RULE!!!

I agree! Way too much publicity was given to a story that was not a big deal. I believe in the long run this kid will look back on this as the start of his pro career.
