Hello,

I think we need to sign a DT and a CB before the draft....because when you look at CB pick by Grier we must be afraid.
for the DT position I think experience is important, so I would like a Calais Campbell resigning and another veteran.

IYO who could be solid (if not extraordinary) pick in FA available for CB and DT with our defensive scheme ?

I will add that I would pick Gray Zabel and Trapilo and stutsman in the draft

Not sure much is available in free agency at this point, and Miami's cap is shrinking. I know there's always a way to create cap space and teams will be releasing players. So, you never know who could be available.

I do agree would love Calais Campbell back.

Miami has said they are waiting on Calais Campbell to see if he will come back which is why they haven’t made a bigger move at that position.

There is always a few good players strangely available in the back half of free agency, right?

right now, isn’t Justin Simmons available at safety? Isn’t he supposed to be good?

Kendal Fuller didn’t sign with anyone did he? Maybe something up w him / concussion lingering / etc…

Anyone good available we can go after?

It’d be cool if we went and got a starter at OL and maybe DL in the draft which we will still need regardless of CC resigning or not.

I guess you can get starting quality safeties in the 3rd? Draft guys can confirm.

So maybe let’s get another solid CB before the draft and get CC to resign and I’d feel more settled about things.

CB is scary for right now with Kohou not being a true boundary corner, Cam has been a no-show, and while I like what I saw from Bonner before he disappeared last year. Maitre and Johnston are unknowns in my book. Fuller is still out there, he played well when healthy but older players get dinged more often. If Campbell decides he wants to play that would help, but he a short term answer, we need youth in the D line. I figure with the depth and quality at DT w go there with 13 since it's a relatively weak class of early CB's. The elephant in the room is OL still. IMHO, we have to go there at 48 unless one of the big dogs drop to us at 13. Improving the pass rush helps the defensive backfield tremendously. Hint, hint...

Agree. Corner is a concern and an area that Grier has always prioritized. Heck, safety is a concern as well. The entire secondary is a work in progress.

Miami does have young corners, as you mentioned. Maybe Fuller comes back on a manageable deal too.

Were currently completely out of cap space. So I wouldn't hold your breath.

I don’t think corner is SO bad provided we get better at every other level - haha.

I mean that seemingly sounds like a dumb statement, but we have at least one VERY GOOD starting corner and arguable if KK is a good #3 or not. The cupboard is not bare.

We are pretty bare on the DL and S… which to me are both areas that need more attention on the defense than CB (if I had to choose).
