DT Fredrick Evans

Fredrick Evans was a seventh-round pick in April out of Texas State, but he has already drawn some notice from Dolphins coach Nick Saban. At 6-4, 305 pounds, the defensive tackle has an impressive body. He looks the part, and if he can show anything during the training camp, he might be able to stick as a backup.

He wil be the third NT on roster with Zgonina backing up Holliday, Roth behind Carter and Vickerson spendidng his first year in PS (He was injured his rookie year and didnt attend PS) and Rod Wright on PUP.

The first string NT is obviuosly Traylor even though he will share at least half his snaps with Manny Wright...Evans comes in and makes the roster as 3rd string with Fifita in PS also...

Your link take's us to a story about culpepper's knee.......Okay found it now my mistake thank's.

As a 7th round pick, being a small piece in someone elses story is the only way that you make the news.

Thanks though for pointing that out. I had read that story along with the Evans piece but did not read the 5 things you should know. I did now. Anyone else getting a little sick of ALL the media attention.

Funny how some people were complaining that we werent getting any and now we cant stay off the news.

I'll buy that.

Plus we have Big Daddy waiting on the sidelines so our DT situation is looking good.I think Saban wants to see how our rookies are progressing before making a decision on Wilkinson.

Hope he turns into something. He certainly appears to have the size ratio in his favor. I love to hear stories about 7th rounders or UDFA coming into an organization and then exploding into unexpected contributors. What any organization needs to keep getting better is these low round draft picks to step up and one day replacing the vets once they move on. Also, I take it as a good sign that your 7th round pick is getting unexpected attention in the first few days of camp.

That is great news Saban sure does seem like he shines in the draft!

I love it! I go to TxState so I've been keeping up with the Evans situation. I about went nuts when the 'Fins drafted him. He's got the physical abilites and I think our coaches will bring it out of him. Keep it up Fred!
