I was reading Pat Kirwan's Senior Bowl blog, and I think we should target this DT Amobi Okoye from Louisville in the First Round. I saw him play a couple times this year, he was making alot of plays.

You can't pass on good young DT's. We're in need of some youth at that position as well.

The only DT I would take is Alan Branch if he somehow slipped that far. Otherwise stay away from Okoye. He's not worth more than a 2nd or 3rd. Media loves him because of his young age but he's overrated. I dont think he'll get drafted until the 2nd anyway even though every mock draft has him going top 20

We already have youth at DT. They just need playing some playing time. Right now I don't think Okoye is worthy of the #9 pick.

He looked pretty good against West Virginia. I don't know exactly how good he is, but that is a position we should address in the first couple rounds anyway.

There is something about drafting a DT with a top 10 pick that doesn't settle well with me. If we don't trade down, I say we draft somebody at a skill position. DTs for the most part just take up space.

We already have a lot of youth at DT with Evans, Vickerson, Wright, and maybe Manny Wright. Thats one position that has a lot of youth on this team.

Its a shame there arent more quality o-linemen out there this year. I dont think Thomas will last to us or else Id say we should use the pick on the o-line.
DT is a concern but not a major one. I think we could fill the void in the 3rd or fourth round if we draft right. Id love to get a shutdown corner or a safety with our #9.

I don't think we have any youth at DT. There's no way we can keep Zgonian, Traylor and Holliday. Who else is there? This mock draft has him rated that high. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sub/mockdraft.html

Vickerson, R.Wright, Evans and maybe M. Wright if he comes back.

That mock draft was when everyone thought he was almost 320 pounds. When he weighted in at under 300 at the Senior Bowl, that limited what position he could play.

He's not even 290. He doesn't really fit at DE and he CERTAINLY doesn't fit at NT. He could be a great 4-3 DT though.

WHAT ABOUT OFFENSE? We can have the best defense in the NFL, but it will useless if we continue with the medicore offense that we have. At some point we are going to have to able to scxore some points or we will continue to miss the playoffs again next year. I think we should use all of our picks on offense and a kicker!

Are the last three guys on the depth chart what we're banking on? I so see the point about him weighing in very light. He'll probably have to play in a 4-3. Which would make him not a very good fit. I didn't know that when I started the thread, sorry.

He weighed in at 287 at the Senior Bowl yesterday.

Last three guys on the depth chart? All of them except the Wrights saw playing time this year.
Okoye could play DE in the 3-4 and DT in the 4-3 similar to the way Carter and Holiday does for the Dolphins now
