Like alot of you, I have been in draft mode for awhile now. The more I look the more I keep feeling that we will be taking a DT early in the draft (2nd round). Looking @ the prospects and looking @ what might be available for us @ 44 or 56, it makes sense to me that Ron Brace would be a great pick-up. He is beast @ 6-3 330, just the way the regime likes them and his tools fit the 3-4 bill. I know we need OLB/CB/WR in no particular order but if Brace is available @ 44 or 56 I really believe he will be a Dolphin.....and I like it!

I'd like it too if we can get him at 44 but he might be gone....if he's there we should take him...everything starts there on a 3-4....if you have a great NT then it'll make the DE's better which would make the OLB's better too and with that rush it'd help the corners so a good NT is hugh for us.

Ozzy rules!!

After watching some tape on Brace and Peria Jerry i don't see where we could go wrong with either of them. Brace looks pretty dang stout!

I would love to get Brace, but a lot of teams are looking for the same type of guy and I just don't see him lasting until our 2A or 2B. :(

What tape were you watching? Brace is horrible, yes he does run hot and get massive penetration at times but most of the time he runs very cold and gets swallowed up by only one lineman. Watch his hand placement when trying to shed blockers. Also, he's out of shape, even for a NT. BC rotated him in and out A LOT in hot weather games and during the 4th quarter. Now, you might be saying that he's a NT so he's going to get winded but compare him to Raji who stayed active in most games and wasn't taken out nearly as much.

I see everyone on this board talking about our need at OLB but personally i feel weve got a bigger need in our MLBs imo with porter roth and wake i feel fairly comfy. while channing will be very helpfull stoping the run i wouldnt mind someone other that akin beside him. no knock on akin because he is decent, but i think feel if we had another mlb that could help alot. i know this post was about drafting a DT but there was also mention of people feeling a need at OLB which is why i brought it up.

Brace at #44 wouldn't be a bad pick, but i doubt our FO is targetting a NT that early. we might look at guys like Terrance Taylor, Roy Miller, Dorell Scott, Khalif Mitchell, Chris Baker or maybe Adrian Grady later on.

The problem with a NT is the well known ones are going to be chosen a round or 2 higher than they should. So that is going to be a very hard choice as a much better player at another position is going to be avialable. This is where the value of a real scouting department comes in. Every nose tackle is going to have to be approached as a sleeper pick sort of to get the proper value. The hard question do we add another project nose tackle to the 2 we already have with Solai or do we really reach for one that is more polished. Brace has back issues by the way so he is a bit in the damaged good department.

A later sleeper could be Chris Baker. Had some trouble with character at PSU and went to a smaller school and dominated. Saw a lot of time with PSU while he was there. Seems to have backed off his character issues and he may be a steal in round 4 or 5 if not chosen yet. Has the size to play NT.

Good player but I think he had to much of a checked past.

I put money on Sammie Lee Hill or Vaugh Martin.

the kid from Michigan might be a good pick in the 3rd. he had a down year as a senior, but that can be said for the whole team. he's athletic, strong and durable.

Ideally i would like a CB in rd 1. Sintim to play inside or outside, we can use help in both spots, whereve he seems to fit best. Use 2b for BPA, WR,CB, LB....Lately I have really been hoping for D. Robinson at 2b.

Chris Baker in the 3rd would be a steal if hes still there. Hes 6'2", 326 lbs and runs a 5.20 40 yard dash. Which is incredible for a man that big. He had 16.5 TFl and 8.5 sacks as a junior. He also had a 35.5 vertical and benched 225 24x . I also like Sammie Lee HIll in the 4th. Hes massive as well and didnt have a Raji next to him to make him look good. He is 6'4" 329lbs and ran a 5.11/40 and benched 225 27 times. Terrence Taylor would be a good value pick with tons of upside. He was considered a 1st round pick until his horrible season last year. He is 6'0" and only 306 but he benched 225 lbs 37 times and ran a 5.08/40. late in the draft in Terrence Knighton from Temple could be an option. 6'3" 317lbs and is a run stuffer. He only benched 225 21 times and only had a 29" vertical but he ran a 4.93/40. There are a couple of guys that could be had real late. Khalif Mitchell from East Carolina. 6'5" 316lbs 5.0/40, 27.5 vert, benched 225 30 times. Vaughn martin from Western Ontario is 6'3" 331lbs, 5.0 falt in the 40, 225 lbs benched 30 times and a 31" vert. Roy Miller from Texas, and Abdullah from Ohio State. And then there Myron Pryor from Kentucky, 6', 319lbs,225 24 times, 5.01/40. The guy was good in college but his stock is dropping. I remember when he was a 1st early 2nd round pick. Any of these guys could be groomed but I like Sammie Lee Hill the best. Terrence Taylor , T Knighton after that
