Dumb question, but I'm serious

Okay, Daunte is pretty big at 264, but I'm talking "Timbo/Larry Chester/Warren Sapp/Ted Washington" type of fat guys. Needless to say, that they wouldn't have Mike Vick's mobility, but neither did Dan. What would stop them from having the ability to read a defense, make smart decisions, and throw accurate passes?

Maybe their mechanics wouldn't be as good, ie footwork and throwing motion. I don't know, that'd be my guess.

well, an eloquent answer would be that an overweight person lacks the .... cough.... range of motion on their sides for a complete arm swing during a throw. You ever heard to sound of rubbing two balloons together? ;)

Culpepper is a quarterback in a linebackers body.He is a big boy but he is also a fumbler. Its more important to have agility than a big body at QB.
i heard he has little hands (being the reason he cant hold onto the football)

Jared Lorenzen got drafted, played for KEntucky, it can be done, but you need to at least have a little bit of athletic ability to play the position...

He was in camp with the Giants, but i dont think he made the roster...
I believe he quit!

Little or no mobility, the mechanics of throwing a pass would be quite different for a "fat" person, and the added wear and tear on the knees and ankles all come to mind immediately. I'm sure there are quite a few other reasons that will pop as more people respond.
size doesn't matter at qb nor does agilty look at marino odonnel warner green johnson manning all are slow

Jared Lorezen is a big guy. I have a great amount of respect for him after the Arkansas/Kentucky 7 overtime game. He was actually very good considering his size.
His Giants teammates nicknamed him J-Load.

Marino had great mobility in the pocket, that counts for physical abilities too...Marino knew when the step up, he had that instinct of a linebacker barreling down on him....

That's it!I figured out how to save our season. Let's put Wade Smith out there at runningback. After the Cincy game, I am convinced that he knows how to fly under the radar, and make the defender miss him. Cincy's defense didn't even realize he was out there for most of the game. How the front office hasn't come up with this is beyond me. He must have the agility of Barry Sanders, the way he juked Cincy's defensive players.

Maybe it's because when a guy is that big he never gets a chance to be a QB. If someone is trained to be a lineman right from the 1st day he starts playing, it's not too likely he'll ever be a QB. It's not that they couldn't learn, just that they're not given the chance.

I was thinking that may be the case.

i always liked that gut from UK. he also can throw 100mph. and if you look at film like i did, he does have good evasiveness in the pocket
