Durant to enter draft

That's a no-brainer. Rick Barnes and anyone associated with the kid shouldn't allow him to go back to school. They should lock the kid out of the athletic facilities and make him go pro. It's one thing to have a kid stay in school when he's a borderline end of the lottery pick or end of the first/second rounder. It's another if the kid's a guranteed top 2 pick. This guy HAD TO GO PRO. When your stock is the highest it can get (which top 2 pick is), you go pro and go for the dollars. What if he went back to school and tore his ACL next season? I bet a lot of people would be questioning who guided him to stay in school. Good, smart decision and I bet he makes a good pro!

The NCAA has started up an insurance program, and its about time that it did. They will offer around 10 mil, or the approximate value that the top pick gets in his rookie deal. It doesn't really apply to the likes of Durant who will be pulling in 40+ mil through a guaranteed deal and shoe contract but hopefully it will make others think twice before jumping unprepared into the NBA and ruining their careers (think Livingston).

what a shock, he'll be the #1 pick for sure.

um no, unless Bobcats or Bucks get the first pick, Oden is going to go #1. Celtics MIGHT if they want to go small with Jefferson at C

Good chance Oden is the top pick, he plays a much more important spot.

I was kinda mad my Bucks won last week, we will have the 3rd most ping pong balls behind Memphis and the Celtics, and we know the Celts are not getting a top 2 pick. :cooldude:

Hope he goes to Boston. Atlanta and Charlotte have had too many Top 3 picks the last couple of years.

ya i was saying that because oden still hasn't made up his mind about declaring, if he does he'll go first.

I'd like to see these kids stay in school and be more polished when they come into the league. I can't even get into college basketball because anyone truely worth watching is one and done and going to the pros. I think it would be better for both the NCAA and NBA if these kids stayed in school at least two years.

It would be nice to see two college years instead of one, but this was the best the NBA could do. The league wanted a 20 year age rule, and the union wanted 18...which I really don't understand, since it just opened the door for more talented kids to come to the pros and take jobs away from veterans, but then, no one's ever accused Billy Hunter of being the sharpest knife in the drawer.

In any event, Durant made the right move. He would have been crazy not to declare.

The lottery better not screw this organization again this year.
