..IN THE INTRO "these two teams know each other very well because they have drafted to beat each other." To me that was a very big statement, because i believe that is what Miami needs to do. They need to draft to beat New england, and eventually win the division and who knows be in the superbowl. These two team did exactly the same in three year and they're both playing in back to back sb. Remember when Miami used to get killed by buffalo and they Shula draf in 91-92 basically puts and to that ? Whatever happens to those days ?

I TOTALLY agree. It is something I harp upon. Make moves to match your division. Miami has not and pays the price each year.

What happened to those days? We started putting people in charge who view mediocrity as success and eventually that contaminated the fanbase. That's why i dont blame the fans for not showing up. Why waste money on a team, that obviously dont care about its fans? Especially in an unstable economy, that money could be saved for a bag of weed, an x-box, bills, a new vehicle whatever it might be. But even at that, when the phins actually do win some, the fans do turn out for them, but nowadays it always turns out to be a trick. I dont blame anybody who decides to keep their money away from this team. But i do look forward to the days, when i can spend my money on a team that deserves it.

The announcers also said......that the only two teams in the NFL to run more than they passed in 2013, were the 49's and the Seahawks....and although they lost, the Patriots have a very good running game as well.

This isn't a surprise, but fix our running game/O-line issues and everything gets better. The flip side is true though....you have to be able to stop the run in our division as the Pats, Jets and Bills are heavy run teams. We regressed in that are in 2013 with our poor LB play, and need that fixed for 2014.

unfortunately 90% of our forum know this, but only around 10% of the Dolphins franchise who make the decisions seem to be aware of this.

Bullspit. The announcer did say that.

You draft to build your prototype and defend your home field.

Pete Carroll always had "big" teams at USC and his failure with the Yets. John Harbaugh same thing at Stanford.

Build your team and defend your home field.

They drafted Dion Jordan with putting pressure on Brady in mind. Same for the drafting of Jared Odrick. Drafting the cornerbacks is also the reason why. It is just that these players did not seal the deal.

Miami, Buf and NYJ have been drafting to try to beat NE for a long time. It's not easy and won't be until #12 retires.

and to cover Gronk.

So our entire division is made up of cold weather teams and most playoff games are outside in the cold. You have to be able to run the football. I think the Philbin/GB system that over-emphasizes the passing game hurt our teams chances of success. Run the ball and then work off of play action.

I think that is exactly what we have been doing, first it was the big corners to take on Randy Moss, big OL to pound the ball, big DL to stop the run, then we went with smaller CB to stay with there WR on short routes, then we went with the big LB who could cover to try to stay with there TE.....the problem is NE changes to often, before we can get all the pieces in place there a completely different team.....

What we need to do is build our team, create mismatches and exploit them, find our identity and do it well.....

I couldn't agree more, run the ball, stop the run and have enough fire power when you need it......and the most important thing is to play great defense, a great defense will give you a chance to win every week.....that is one thing the packers had when they won was a great D when then didn't, they didn't win, scored a lot of points but didnt win ....as crazy as it may sound the Jets got it right, there problem was they are lacking skill players, they are closer to dominating the Pats than we are.....

Really? We beat the Pats and should have swept them had the refs not been awful. This was with no run game. We have the right idea. Jets are not closer than us.
