Hey guys,

I just wanted to say that I am so happy my good friend Dwight Lowery finally got drafted! With his preparation and work ethic, he will be a great player in the league. It's one thing to read about these guys and hear their stories... it's another thing when the guy getting picked is one of your best friends.

I hate to admit this, but apart of me has now become a Jets fan... except for when they are playing the Dolphins of course!!!

Sorry, I am rambling a bit, but I am just so f'n excited for him! If anyone deserves this, he does!

Enjoy the rest of the day!

What is the scoop on him, i dont know too much about him?

Savage corner in college. 9 INTs in 2006 and 4 INTs in 2007 (everyone stayed away from him). About 6' 200 lbs - will probably play Safety. Only second JUCO transfer who ended up being a two-time All-American (the other was O.J. Simpson).

Hard worker (workout warrior - looks like an Adonis) and has some of the best ball skills I've ever seen (this at playing Corner). Was clocked from high 4.4s to low 4.6s at his pro day. Has good leaping ability and primarily played bump and run Corner and half-turn bailed Quarters.

Thanks man! Looks like he is going to be a hybrid in our system, cant wait to see how he turns out!:woot:

Lowery is a VERY good player. I was hoping Miami would take him late. He has very good size and ball skills.

I just think it is funny - of all teams for him to go to - the Jets! I guess it could have been worse, he could have gone to the Pats!

I go to SJSU and saw him play a lot. He is outstanding. I was pining for him to be a Dolphin or the kid from Eastern Kentucky. Oh well, at least I'll get to see him twice a year :/

Congrats to your friend... best of luck to him except of course against Miami.

I know the Jets run a 3-4, but what are their main coverages?
Since Mangini came on board the Jets have played quite a bit of zone, but Mangini is trying to get more players with man to man cover skills so we can do both.I'm not sure Lowery fits that mode too well, but I believe he will play nickel and safety for us anyway,so it probably doesn't matter.I really like this pick.He seems to have great awareness and recognition ability on the field.:)

I hope he does well, but all his new roommates choke at the last minute.
