They tried to trade him. Nobody offered anything, including the Eagles, who we were specifically trying to shop him to. They knew we couldn't keep our entire backfield and that Gordon was most likely to be on the chopping block.

I don't know, i thought the eagles made an offer for him, but that we decided it wasn't good enough...

Ok, the headline for this article is what made me believe that Philly was offering something:

If it is correct in saying that Philly is interested in trade for Gordon, then I could assume that to mean they were willing to put something on the table for him...Now what that was, I don't know, maybe a 7th rounder? Maybe just some guy they were planning on cutting?...
