Eagles Fans Going Nuts over LG Pick Up

I perused the Eagles message board. They think this move will put them over the top. Here is a sample post. They think Lamont Gordon will be like Lamont Jordan. LOL!

The Gordan pick up was an excellent move.

I rate him very similar to Lamont Jordan from the Jets a year ago. Jordan used to return kicks and has some speed and power and thats why he made so much money in FA for the Raiders.

I don't think Lamar has been in the right situation yet. He is never going to be a feature back, but he has the size and speed to come into a game and make a defense who's wearing down, pay the price as the game goes on.

And he has good hands, which makes the screen pass a viable threat given his speed.

Great move.

Now they got the bigger back in a 225 pounder plus.
 
for them, it honestly was a pretty good move. i don't see your point?
 
He NEVER hit the hole! He stuttered in the backfield for way too long. He may be big but he is not and never will be a tough back.

Ryan Moats will overtake him.

Guess they havent seem him run. He dances to much.

He'll play well for them I bet. they seem to have luck with every back they stick in there. They have a great offense.
 
the eagles simply have one of the (most underrated as well) best offensive lines in the business. Gordon will make plays. Anyone could.
 
i was never sold on Lamar. He did nothing. Maybe he may find a home in Philly but im not crying. Just what we gave up for him i am miffed about.

What hole??? We could never provide him one. He is a good back and will do well in Philly no question.
 
agreed dolphins74 although I wouldnt exactly call him good he's at least adequate. At least he gets to play behind a good offensive line now. He'll finally be able to show what he can do again. Don't get why Saban didnt try to get at least a 6th or 7th for him prior to waiving him
 
If the Eagles expect him to contribute by catching passes out of the backfield, they won't be too disappointed. Otherwise, they'd better hope Westbrook holds up. I say that hoping the Eagles do well -- I kind of like them as a team (though obviously not as much as the Dolphins).

well, we aren't cutting ricky williams or ronnie brown, that was pretty obvious. Now the eagles tried for morris first, and we showed them we weren't getting rid of him. So the eagles then probably saw that we had only one roster spot left at HB. Gordon or minor? and im guessing based of preseason the eagles knew who we were keeping, and obviously who we were cutting.
 
HAH! They'll learn quickly that Lamar Gordon is a substandard back with virtually no vision and bad concentration problems. Ryan Moats won't just overtake him, he will BLOW HIM AWAY.

Eagles would have been better off trying to trade us for Morris in the wake of our signing Jesse Chatman. Heck they would have been better off signing Chatman!
