I asked for a few opinions on how these two new dolphins played last year over at an Eagles forum and got the following responses.. I'll update as I get more.

Maxwell had a rough start in week 1, getting dominated by Julio Jones. He improved though and actually played pretty well for most of the season. He wasn't a shutdown corner but he was definitely a solid starter, albeit an expensive one.
Kiko battled injuries and never could get consistent playing time, and when he did he was actually somewhat of a liability. He's simply wasn't a good enough tackler, probably because he's undersized for a linebacker. Still a freak athlete though and he's definitely worth another shot.
Maxwell started off the year terribly when Julio Jones was on his "**** NFL CBs" tour and he just happened to be the opening act, but rounded off the year as a solid starter. He's a CB2 getting paid CB1 money. Another thing you should be prepared for, he always goes for the strip and not the tackle. So...much...bled...yardage......
I'm a Kiko fan, but it all depends on his health. If he can get back to what he was in Buffalo y'all got a gem. If not, he's a liability out there both in coverage and run defense.
Kiko made one memorable play, a one-handed interception in the end zone, that's about it. Maxwell looked scared out there for the first half of the season and tightened up to serviceable by season's end.
I can't remember how many times I said.. "****ing Maxwell" all season. (Lost count) His performance to cost ratio was terrible IMO.
Kiko.. I think he's got some upside and he's not costing much right now.
Let me make it simple - garbage
People will make excuses for Maxwell saying that he wasn't utilized right in Billy Davis' defense, I personally was never a huge fan of the signing cause I felt he was just a product of his environment in Seattle. He got his ring and cashed out, that's how I see it.
His coverage wasn't great and he almost seemed to refuse to make a tackle at times.
Kiko just never seemed healthy, I hope he bounces back because his Buffalo film is scary.
Kiko was garbage this year, physically and mentally underachieving. Torn ACL last year, and I didn't pay attention to him 2 years ago so all my experience with him has been negative.
Maxwell underperformed relative to his huge contract, but I still think he can be an average starting CB.
Maxwell was above average after week 3 but still got so many pass interference calls it was absurd.
Kiko was injured but honestly dreadful the entire season.
Kiko is a pretty cool guy.

People make injury excuses for Alonso, but it runs deeper than that. When healthy at the middle and end of the season he was shying away from intact and avoiding tackles. We had our linebackers decimated by injury and he played a ton in the second half of the season...He finished with 43 total tackles. For a MLB. Let that sink in. He was slow, struggled finishing tackles, constantly trying to arm tackle.
Maxwell is a decent player. He is a mediocre to slightly above average CB. He's absolutely not worth top-5 CB money. Idc what anyone says. He can't cover Dez or Julio Jones. He also can't tackle. When his man catches the ball he isn't violent, he basically holds him up until someone bigger can come make the tackle...It's really weak.
Soft as ****. I think Kiko can bounce back. But all hope for Maxwell is gone. He doesn't have the brains to be a #1CB. He will need safety help to see success.
Enjoy the slants
