Eagles may add running back

Let me clarify that I like RW. I wanted him back to be a phin. But if there is any place it makes sense for him to be dealt its Philly. For 1 they split carries pretty evenly between their 1 and 2 backs. More importantly Westbrook is a Fa next year and hes good but not franchise worthy. I know they spent a pick on Moats and signed buckhalter but it depends how much faith they want to place in those moves as opposed to getting a bigtime guy like RW. And theyre pretty well stocked with picks and could easily offer a 1st day pick for him.

That said of course I would MUCH rather it be Gordon that goes.

Trade Ricky to them......That would almost be funny considering what the fans thought about them drafting Mcnabb.

Can you explain that comment...I think it would be interesting to watch you take a shot at it.

Last years record without him
year before with him I say we need him!

thats why we drafted Ronnie....so that we wouldnt have to depend on him. Also, go back to the year before Ricky arrived. We had Lamar Smith running the ball and we made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. We didnt even make the playoffs in either of Ricky's seasons with the Dolphins. He's nice to have while he's playing, but he isnt really needed.

Last year's record was not all because Ricky was absent. The O-Line last year was quite possibly the worst in NFL history ("false start...everyone but the center"). It was certainly the worst in Dolphins history. Key injuries on defense hurt us too. (Chester, Timbo). Even had Ricky played its doubtful we would have won more than an extra game or two.

Keep in mind that Ricky is still very much a loose cannon. Yes, he is playing and he looks pretty good so far, but we could wake up tomorrow to news that he hopped a midnight flight to India. Even in his recent press conferences he makes comments like the one about equating "commitment" to "surrender". Like he isnt committed to playing because he wants to, but because he is forced to.
So, if that is indeed his attitude, or even close to it, then no...we do not need Ricky Williams. We can use him, we can even cheer for him, but if anything of value is offered in exchange for Ricky, we should be prepared to say goodbye to him.

Ricky and McNabb came out in the same draft class. When Philly drafted McNabb, all of the Philly fans in atttendance booed the selection, because they wanted the team to draft Ricky.

"I'm NOT for trading Sammy Morris. The guy is our #3 runner, #3 fullback, stellar on special teams and he can make plays when he is needed. The ONLY way I let Morris out of here is if someone offers a 3rd rounder for him."

I like Sammy better than Minor or Gordon I think Sammy could be a good #2 back if Ricky wasnt here.

c'mon guys.....dont u all remember who it was that won our game against the New England Patriots last year? I remember.....we had our orange jerseys, we were losing, AJ Feeley threw a touchdown pass, a pass which i never thought wouldve been caught....but it was caught...even tho there must have been triple coverage there....it was caught by.....Derrius.....Thompson. Then Brendan Ayanbadejo intercepted Tom Brady and finished the game for us. But it was Derrius Thompson who made the game winning catch against the Super Bowl champions!!! So why dont you like him???? He seems real good to me..

I'd rather him catching half the freakin balls he dropped as a fin than ONE SUPER CATCH he had against the MIGHTY PATRIOTS..oh well

I believe what we're all sick of his Derrius ..... Thompson ONLY making the catch when Miami's back is against the wall. Here ... lets give a guy a spot on our roster that has butter on his gloves for the first 55 minutes of the game but once we get to the final 5 minutes he's superman. While we're at it, why don't we put him right about David Boston on the depth chart and have him compete with Booker for #2? The guy is a joke until the game is on the line. I'm sure we can do without his "superman" catch over TROY BROWN (whoopie) ... not even a cornerback by reputation, nevermind triple coverage. :shakeno:

Trade Gordon AND Feeley back for our 2nd round pick they jerked off from us last season!!!!

I would ship Gordon for a 7th round pic...
Thompson...i would take a 4th...
...

WOuld love to send Gordon, Thompson, and Frerotte or Feeley for McMahon...

It seems like evryone forgets this, but the first time we playe dthe pats last season, Thompson dropped a wide open TD that would have given us the lead going into half. Right after that was when Turk gave his runningback audition. If Derrius doesn't drop that pass, momentum never swings NE's way. We could very well have beaten them in Foxboro.

Um...unless the Eagles got dumb over the summer that ain't gonna happen.

I'd count ourselves lucky if we got a 4th for Gordon. Gordon is the only runner on our roster I would see getting traded. Saban knows the value that Sammy Morris has. Unless someone knocks our socks off with an offer for him I would'nt let him go.

Ricky ain't going anywhere. I don't know what the rush is to trade the guy. He has a cap friendly deal. He has more value to us then he would ever return in a trade.

He's also a top 10 runner when he is focused and motivated.

Whats wrong with having some depth for once?

Thank you for saying that, I agree 100%.

I get the situation now, but why would the trade become funny?????????
