A lot has been said about the inability of the West Coast teams to come to the east coast and perform at a competitive level. I don't keep up with it, but is it the same for the East Coast teams playing on the west coast. It really would be nice to see NE and the Jest go down 2 weeks in a row. Not likely, but I didn't expect Buffalo to lose to San Fran either.

:tank::koolbang:

Mike Singletary has the 49ers playing with a lot more passion and discipline as of late so it would not surprise me if the Jets go in their and struggle again!

Someone pointed out recently that the lousy record by west-coast teams flying east has a simpler explanation than travel time: both the AFC West and NFC West pretty much suck this year, and the schedule had both of them flying East a lot.

An upset in San Fran or Seattle would be a pleasant surprise though, even if we just got one out of two.

Its much better when a team goes from the east coast to the west coast. Because the body clock of the east coast player is 3 hours ahead so he is more alert, awake and even stronger. Advantage, east coast.

The reason west coast teams have such a hard time coming to the east coast has to do with the fact that most players are extreme creatures of habit. Being used to the Pacific time zone, coming east and playing in a 1PM game feels to them like playing at 10AM. This is not something that they have to do very often and it screws up theier pre-game routine. East coast teams can come to the west coast without much trouble, as playing in a 1PM (Pacific) game is like playing in a 4PM (Eastern) game, something that they do several times every year and are accustomed to doing.

The reason WC teams have struggled coming East is b/c they aren't very good. Did the 49ers of the 80s and 90s have problems coming East and winning games? No.

Exactly, the 49ers, Seahawks, Raiders, and Chargers are all bad teams this season. Traveling west is not a big deal, unless you play two games back to back on the west coast.

It really probably has more to do with the quality of the teams. West coast teams (SD, OAK, ARI, SF, SEA) are a combined 20-40 this year....regardless of where they play. they are an even worse 8-31 playing any team outside their own horrible divisions (home or away).

those teams are just bad....no matter what time zone they are playing in.

None of us would be surprised if the Jets lost one of those west coast games. They look unstoppable one week and then they get lit up by a one dimensional offense.

I also wouldn't be surprised if we lost to San Francisco. They worry me right now more then any team on our remaining schedule, except the Jests of course.

We had won 5 straight and 7 of 8 before last week so we were consistent. We played awful football on Sunday, it happens. As long as it doesn't continue this week I will still be very confident in this team.

so......

looks like you have found a whole new kind of consistency, consistently bad.

I hate when a jets fan forces me to thank him. :err:

I do think this time it will be us that surprises SF. The dolphins have a lot of holes in our team but one thing i can say about us is we always come prepared (except for Arizona) and we make few mistakes. A flight west is not going to be a reason Miami loses this week
:woot:

This is a home game for us, we aren't flying anywhere

..So that makes you 100 percent right then

Unfortunately we have been consistently bad the last 2 weeks. If we keep it up we have no shot, if we play like we were the weeks leading up to Denver we'll have no problems. It should be exciting the last 3 weeks.
