To my fellow Dolphins fans, and to the players, members of the organization, etc. I stand before you today to (proudly) eat my crow. Before the season began, I was one of the ones who bashed and looked down on the more "optimistic" Dolphins fans claiming that we would finish above .500. I was one of the so-called "realist" fans who couldn't realistically see this team finishing better than 6-10 no matter how the schedule was dissected or how the numbers were crunched, considering last year they found multiple ways to lose close games.

To the players, you've far exceeded the expectations of most Dolphins fans (except those darned optimistic ones) but you don't need me to stand here and say that, that's obvious. What I will say, however, is that regardless of how this season winds down I'm proud of my Miami Dolphins. This team may not be the most talented on paper, but they have the heart of a lion. Bill Parcells, Jeff Ireland, and Tony Sparano and co have instilled a winning tradition and has this squad of overachievers, unlike last year, finding ways to win.

In closing, I guess my main point is that is great to wear my Dolphins gear this year and not be ridiculed. It's great to be a Dolphins fan again...

...even if you have to swallow a lil bit of crow along the way.

See ya, and GO DOLPHINS!!!

vegas gave us 5 1/2 wins during preseason...
i bet 1000, and now I've been 1000 richer...
i just wish i had more money at the time... i thought we were going 8-8, i had no clue we'd go 11-5 :)

Everyone is welcome. You are one that was on board from the beginning of the season. I'm not sure what being a "True fan" is these days, but, you're ok with me.

I too was thinking 5-6 wins..., so I have to admit this failure.... but I did write an earlier thread starter thanking BP & Sons for their commitment to stay away from high risk low reward free agents..., for cutting Zach trading JT and focusing on OL DL and QB during the draft..., and again I say thanks gents... after 30+ years of suffering finally a coach who can motivate and a top brass who can evaluate talent...

A few guys brazenly wrote how they would reserve their vote of confience until they saw the product.., how's the product now fellows...?

I agree. We couldn't win with Zach and Jason so it was time to try and win without them.

I am also very surprised, and I am one of the people that wrote if Miami did not have the injuries of last year, I could not see them losing more the 8, expecting them to win 9-10 games. Very nice turnaround, hope they keep it up to extremely unrealistic goals. ;)

I was on record as stating the best I expected them to do was 8-8. I am happily surprised.

I posted a thread on 10/28 saying that we would win 6 more wins. I have faith in this Dolphins team, they are one of the best "rags to riches" stories I have ever seen in the NFL. I couldn't have asked for more, they have already surpassed anything I could have expected or imagined from 1-15 season last year. Go f'ing Fins!
:applaudit:

I don't know how anyone could predict what we're seeing right now...
But I do know that this team is very exciting to watch.

I was thinking 7-9 or 8-8 myself, looking at the schedule. Never thought we would be looking at 11-5 and the division come half way through December. There is a lot of credit to go around, but most has to be given to Chad Pennington and Tony Sparano. These guys has made the Dolphins a threat in the AFC again

I thought 8-8 would be a great year. Its not only surprising how this season is turning out, but the confidence these players are gaining and actually expecting to win.

I like the quote one of the players made yesterday. We are not winning pretty but all wins are beautiful......

I'm with ya here AC. I was definitely not seeing 9+ wins. I thought anyone who said that was a huge homer. I also thought I was being realistic with a 5-6 wins prediction.

I'll gladly admit I was wrong. I certainly didn't expect this kind of turnaround and there is certainly no shame in anyone who said 4 wins...and no shame in anyone who said 12. We are all big time Dolphins fans or else we wouldnt be here!
