Eddie THE BUST Moore????

There is so much hate for Eddie Moore.
I ask you why?
He has been bitten hard by the injury bug. I guarentee you that he's far more pissed about it than anyone here.
He is from the Wanny/ Speilman regime. Does that make him untalented or unworthy of being a Fin?

True, his injuries are wearing thin on everyone's patience. But, it's the injuries that suck, not Eddie Moore.
I am not a UT fan, far from it. I love the Gators. Unfortunately, I had the displeasure of seeing this excellent LB do very well in the SEC.

If Eddie Moore gets cut it won't be because of a lack of talent. It will be because of either injuries or the fact that he doesn't fit the mold of the type of LB Saban seems to go after ( the bigger ones).

I wish people would reserve the "he SUCKS" judgements for the players who've proven they don't belong because of what they cannot do on the field.

Brian Griese had alot of talent, and got screwed by Wanny.

Fiedler had countless years and oppertunities to prove his talent, and just found more and more ways to screw up.

brian griese played like he had cementboots on for us. thats all. and he didn't adjust during the course of a game. ever.

Was it because he was brought in, given 5 games to show what he had, and had no help? Not to mention he was in a pop-warner system...

Look at the year before, and after his tenure in Miami. There is no doubt he has talent...

85.6%
97.5%

Passer ratings!!!

We have not had a rating higher than that since Marino. Mind you Fiedler was close, but that was when Ricky torched 1800 yards.

what has he done? he certainly doesn't deserve much praise to this point in his NFL career. chambers had 10 times the rookie season he had. calico isn't a guy i'd be second guessing our war room about, not to this point.

Chambers started 7 games his rookie year and played in all 16 games. He ended up being our 1st/2nd reciever in his first year. Calico 'started' 2 games and played in 14 total, 12 others as a 3rd reciever and had 4 touchdowns. That same year Drew Bennett had 4 touchdowns and Derrick Mason scored 8 on 95 receptions and 1300 yards. The dude is pretty good, 6'4" too.

And you didn't answer my question, why is he overrated?

Moore had potential to be a bigtime player. He still does really. But not in Miami's old system, or new one. The guy is in the wrong city, special thanks to Wanny.

Not really. He's undersized and injury prone. Few scouts had him projected to go any higher than the 5th round. His lot in life was projected to be Special teamer, backup LB. I don't recall any writeup on Moore that stated he would be a starting LB in the NFL.
I guess Wanny figured that if he drafted Moore in the 2nd, then Moore would automatically become as talented as a 2nd rounder.....

Who is Eddie Moore?

Linebacker drafted out of Tenn a few years ago. Wanny used our 2nd round pick (we had no first round pick that year) on Moore even though most draft experts had him pegged to go no earlier than the 5th round. Some even felt he would go undrafted. Moore was fast, and had decent instincts, but was way undersized and injury prone. Rick Spielman wanted to take Anquan Boldin with our 2nd round pick, but Wanny overruled him. The general consensus on Moore was that he would be a special teamer/backup linebacker in the NFL.

I think your just another guy who has no love for Moore. Despite injuries Moore has a world of upside. Undersized? People said the same about Zach, and he was drafted in the 5th round. Moore has the potential to be a solid player, and possibly take it beyond that. You put Moore in Balitmore and give him 2 years to develop, the kid has a shot!

Exactly, if Zack was drafted in the fifth, why should Eddie have been drafted any higher? Eddie has yet to show any of the instincts or skill that make Zack the Lb he is.

I mean seriously, If Cedric Benson or Caddy Williams has an amazing year, are we gonna start seeing "stupid saban we could have had Caddilac!" threads. its ridiculous.

Bad comparison...Eddie Moore was a second day pick on EVERYONE'S draft board...accept Wanny's. He reached...BIG TIME!

I recall when he was announced and my EXACT reaction was "WHO?!" followed by a much louder "WHY?!"

Really?

Would that have been while he was on IR or wearing the red jersey?

He actually pretty damn solid when filling in last year.

Personaly I think he looked pretty good last year(shrug)

Its a shame he will not fit into Sabans system as more than a special teams player. If you ask me he is our best option at opposite Seau at OLB. Yeah, he is injury prone, no excuses; but when he is on the field he can be a pretty solid linebacker

let's make sure Seau gets through the summer before we buy Moore a ticket... in spells and situations, i thought he was a fine coverage linebacker last year... he's also a good solid tackler...

he certainly needs a healthy season, but i will agree, if anything, he's a weakside 4-3 backer...

I completely agree it was a bad pick, but I realy do think he can be a good LB.

Heres an overview of him, and where he SHOULD have been drafted (Or shouldnt have in their case  , just read...).

BIO: Second-team All-Conference choice last season after totaling 101 tackles, 7 1/2 tackles for loss and three sacks with seven pass defenses. Started 13 games as a junior totaling 81 tackles, seven tackles for loss and two sacks, while breaking up six passes. Top reserve early in his career who also saw action on special teams.

POSITIVES: Hard working linebacker with solid instincts for the position. Immediately reads or anticipates the action, quick filling gaps up the field yet also displays a good feel in coverage. Effective over the slot receiver and shows good feet and overall range. Cognizant, pursues from the backside, chasing to get involved in the action.

NEGATIVES: Moves well laterally but lacks the explosive burst to the flanks. Not efficient and takes a few too many steps. Wraps up the ball carrier but has tackles broken.

ANALYSIS: Possible nickel linebacker who may be an inexpensive backup at the next level and offer help on special teams.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent
( WE TOOK HIM IN THE 2ND, YES THATS RIGHT FOLKS 49TH OVERALL, WE COULD HAVE HAD HIM IN THE 6TH EAISLY )

Also we could have had players like Anquian Bolden  , Tyrone Calico, Mike Doss:cry: , Osi Omineyouria (sp?), Bryan Scott, LANCE BRIGGS:cry: , Jason Witten (Pre Micmike), Nate Burelson, Rick Manning Jr, Terrence McGee, the goes on and on and on........before Moore, Wade Smith, and Witley :yell: .

Oh well, I guess you just have to guess right, and we............didnt.

it's a shame... he's done quite well 'when' he has played..

he was rated as a fifth round pick and we took him in the second because of a run on OLB. on paper he looks good - fast and rangey, good in coverage.

injuries have crippled him, literally.

I'm not one of these people around here that say he sucks outright. He just hasn't done anything while he's been here, and while he wasn't bad while playing, he didn't light the world on fire either. This is his third year where he has struggled to get on the field, and at some point durability becomes a bigger issue than just ability. I'd rather see Pope, Jenkins (who I have always liked), and Ayanbadejo get a chance than to just keep handing this guy free passes. At some point, he has to produce or at least show the potential for producing.
