Eddie THE BUST Moore????

Speilman had him on his short list.Yes I know he wanted Boldin along with all of the other NFL teams since he was BPA but he also bears some responsibility for having him on his short list.

Your post makes no sense. It's pretty well known that RS wanted Boldin. So what if he had Moore as a possibility (short list). Every team has one. The fact is, that Moore was a productive LB for a big time SEC school (Tenn.) and he played injured.
The problem with Moore isn't talent, it's his inability to stay healthy. Kind of reminds me of a poor man's Marvin Jones (FSU LB drafted by the Jets).

Last year there was a story about Speilman having a short list that included 5 players for the first round of the draft.

I remember OL Andrews was one of them who as you remember was taken by the Eagles when they traded up.I dont remember who the others were but they were all taken before our turn except for Carey.

This may have contributed to the panic move by Speilman to give up a 4th round pick in order to move up one spot.

So I am asssuming that this is the way he did business. In the previous year Rick submitted his short list to Wanny which include Boldin and Moore and it was Wanny that picked from that list.

If we have those threads I believe that will be the demise of FinHeaven. What if Wanny goes on to win a national championship with Pitt...

"Why didn't we keep Wanny@!"

:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

This is sad but true

I thought he played pretty well last year. I don't think he fits in this sytem, but I think the kid has talent. Unfortunetly he just can't stay healthy.

I'm not one of these people around here that say he sucks outright. He just hasn't done anything while he's been here, and while he wasn't bad while playing, he didn't light the world on fire either. This is his third year where he has struggled to get on the field, and at some point durability becomes a bigger issue than just ability. I'd rather see Pope, Jenkins (who I have always liked), and Ayanbadejo get a chance than to just keep handing this guy free passes. At some point, he has to produce or at least show the potential for producing.

I can fully appreciate this point of view. I just don't know that I personally buy into cutting someone based on their injury history.

I think your just another guy who has no love for Moore. Despite injuries Moore has a world of upside. Undersized? People said the same about Zach, and he was drafted in the 5th round. Moore has the potential to be a solid player, and possibly take it beyond that. You put Moore in Balitmore and give him 2 years to develop, the kid has a shot!

:rofl3::rofl3: A world of upside? Yeah, right. What has Moore shown you to foster this support? In his time in the NFL what has Moore produced that leads you to believe he will be anything more than what he was projected to be...a backup LB/Special Teamer. Show me some stats, or some consistantly solid play.

Yes he is undersized. There are a few players in the NFL that have a heart so big it makes up for their lack of mass. Zach Thomas of course is one of them. In Zachs first season it was obvious that he was a player. In fact, as a rookie he was so good that he was the reason Jack Del Rio was released. Moore's first season was spent on injured reserve and even then he managed to get himself knocked out in a bar fight. His second season (first playing) he managed just 3 starts. Remember also that Seau was out for the last 2 months of the season.

Im not sure what you meant by adding that Zach went in the 5th round. It sounds like you are saying that since Moore went in the 2nd round he must be good since a great player like Zach lasted till the 5th. That can't be what you really meant though because nobody could be that misinformed.
Please clarify.

Any player has the "potential to be a solid player". Its what they show on the field that determines how good a chance they have to live up to that potential. Moore showed he was good in college, but he was playing against smaller, less talented players. In the NFL the onlything he has shown is that he could get a very stupid coach/GM to draft him in the 2nd round.

Gotta love reason and logic :shakeno:
