Seems to be open to the idea. From this week's Sports Illustrated:

On the possibility of returning to his hometown, Miami, to play for the Dolphins when his contract ends after the season

"I'm not stupid. We've got the coolest owner [Jim Irsay], a coach [Tony Dungy] I could play for till I'm 50, and Mr. Polian [the team's president] went out on a limb to get me coming out of college. So the Colts have first choice. Then again, I'm open-minded. I have kids in Florida who I only see on my cellphone. I get lonely in Indy, and in a perfect world you'd be with your family. Bottom line is, whatever's thrown my way, I'll be fine. It's like when my brothers and I were kids, and my mom used to get put out of houses. We'd pick up our s---, say 'See y'all later,' go stay somewhere else and make the best of it. "

i see it happeneing next season. he is a florida boy. we need another dreaded back. and a CANE to boot!

I'm not.. Are you comfortable with the amount of money that guy will cost?

I seriously doubt that Rick would do this based on what this team already lacks.

There might be a few bumps along the way to get Edgerrin here. First off, the major bump is if Harrison gets an extension before FA opens up next spring, because then Indy can Franchise Edge. Secondly if Edge hits the market, whether we sign him or not depends on the play of Gordon. If Gordon comes out and finishes this season with over 1100 yards, we might not make a run at him but if he fails to hit 1000 we might go after him. I would like us to sign Edge and do the same thing that Indy is doing now with James and Rhodes. Edgerrin might be the short term answer, but Gordon is the back of the future.

Might as well get the only Cane that I don't hate. Edge is the man. I'd love to see him in aqua and coral, but I don't want him to handle the ball near the goal line.

GREAT POST MAN YOU TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH GORDON IS THE FUTURE OF THIS FRANCHISE I BELIVE.

We have Lamar Gordon now, no way we go after Edge. I see this team going after DT's and OL next year.

Dont get me wrong..Im a huge Edge fan but it all comes down to how Gordon does this year and where we finish. If Gordon does bad, and Edge is to much, Im all for Cedric Benson out of Texas with our first pick.(If we dont do so well that is) But lets hope for the best.

I dont see the upside of paying big bucks to a back that has an injury history whose nearly 28, the magic number in which your workhorse running backs start to decline.

I dont think Rick will be signing Edge if it is very expensive. Rick seems to be trying to build a young core on offense of players in or just about to hit their primes. I like Edge but he doesnt fit that description. Unless we do really well this season and Rick decides to load up for one run at the super bowl.

I have a buddy who is a Colts fan and he says the Edge has always had that problem. He was so upset when he once again had butterfingers at the goal in the NE game.
I personally don't think Edge has been the same since his injury. I know he says he is 100% now but I don't see it. I saw him in person in Indy a few times and his cuts were amazing. He is no longer that guy.
