Michael Lombardo of SDBoltReport.com reports Chargers GM A.J. Smith might be shopping WR Vincent Jackson around. Lombardo speculates that Jackson could fetch a 2nd-round pick in the 2009 draft. "Teams such as the Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings would all be expected entrants in the bidding for the 6-foot-5, 241-pound receiver." QUOTE]

Pretty Interesting stuff. I would not do it for a 2nd rounder, but for a 3rd I would jump all over it. That would give us Wilford, Jackson & Ginn. Im sorry, but I just dont trust Hagan and his buttery hands. Im counting on Bess making the team, and being our next Wes....

I like Vincent Jackson but i wouldn't want to trade a 2nd for him. There's a reason they traded a 2nd to get Chambers and that was because he didn't cut it as a #1.

man a second would be tempting but i would much rather do it for a first. We need more talent at the WR position and a HUGE wr like him would be great. I live in san diego so i watch him alot and hes pretty good though chambers was better than him he would be a great pick up if we traded for him.

Lombardo is just speculating. The fact of the matter is Miami needs a big receiver that can play Split End and Jackson has always been more of a Flanker IMO. Underachiever.

Vincent Jackson is an absolute monster and at the end of last year he broke out big time against the best teams in the league in the playoffs. He has great speed and agility while also having a bruiser type of ability with his massive body. We could definitely use him and in my opinion AJ is moronic for shopping him around. If anything he should be trying to trade "Bust" er Davis.

What has he done to warrant a second? No way.:shakeno:
He had three hundred yard games in a row and two touchdowns leading all players in post season WR stats including Randy Moss. He struggled with illness and injuries but now that is behind him and next season he will be a monster.

He played with a bone sticking out of his thumb. I don't know if that's worth a second, but.. pretty badass.

I don't think we're at the point where we can throw draft picks around yet. He's yet to put together a good season and you have to wonder why he's being shopped. Less than a 2nd and I'd find this trade more interesting.

I don't understand that. Why would you rather trade a first round draft pick to get him than a second? I'm not being rude. I genuinely don't understand. Did you mean it as in you would rather trade to get a number one wide receiver than someone who is likely to be playing as number two? Do number one and two receivers really exist anyway? I mean, they're both pretty likely to be on the field together anyway so shouldn't they both be number one receivers?

How come San Diego wants rid of Jackson? That's the bit which bothers me. He was, as stated, really effective for them in the playoffs and you would have thought they would love to have him, Chambers, Gates and Tomlinson together on the field as potential receiving targets for Rivers. If he's fully healthy and his contract doesn't greatly outweigh his ability, I don't get why the Chargers would want to offload him elsewhere. They're on the cusp of winning big and getting draft picks for the future isn't as important to a team like that as having good players now is.

a conditional 4th. That could MAYBE jump to a 3rd if he meets certain criteria. How many plays he takes on the field and stuff like that

How bout a conditional 3rd that could jump too a 2ond upon performance? Doubt they would even think about a fourth.
