I've been on the 'Draft a RB bandwagon' ever since the season ended. But now that I am thinking about it I think that our running game will be ok with Hudson Houck and Stockar McDougle on the O-line, and hopefully a good running back in the 3rd or 4th rounds like Moats or Barber that could be potential starters. I also think we should give Gordon a go behind a line that can do something, he also showed good skills in the passing game which Linehan would like considering he likes to use the backs in the passing game. This leads me now to get on the Braylon Edwards bandwagon and I am getting a little excited that we would have a tall, fast, talented playmaking receiver. This would solidify us using the 3 wideout sets this year because as of now we do not have a good slot receiver. (Thompson too slow and unreliable) My question to you is do you think if we drafted Braylon and moved Booker to the slot or shipped him, do you think that Braylon would have a better year than Chambers?

I think he would because Feeley let's face it has a good arm but is not the most accurate of QB's. But he really wouldn't have to be with Braylon because after watching some highlights and seeing 2 games of his last year I saw him go up in the air and beat DB's, wrestle them to the ground for the ball and make plays all by himself in the passing game. Not that Chambers can't go up and get it but the height difference and mismatches Braylon would create gives him a clear advantage. I also think that Chambers would benefit from getting Edwards because having a playmaker like Edwards demands double teams and more coverages leaving CC to be able to go one on one with a DB a lot of the time and I would back him in against most CB's in the league to win a one on one.

Thoughts?

Mike Williams would be a better compliment receiver. He would draw more attention from opposing LBs and DBs.

If I was a defensive co-ordinator, I'd be more worried about a 6'5 230lb WR that is next to impossible to cover and can catch everything going his way.

Williams and Booker going underneath with Chambers going long.

But I think in Linehan's we need at least 2 deep threats in his passing style of offense. Williams has good game speed but not enough to get downfield constantly without Feeley getting sacked or pressured too much, he also hasn't got the best 'feel for the pass rush'. But I do want a tall receiver, we really haven't had that many tall, fast receivers who can win jump balls consistently in the end zone which is what I want because it would inflate Feeley's stats and give us a more potent red zone offense.

My sentiments exactly? We will become Minnesota Vikings south, I would love the Edwards pick and also it would free up your tight end so Mcmicheals will have a huge year also.

I like mike but he's a bigger Orande Gasden, Marty booker is a decent receiver in the slot.

OG except for the fast part. But he was da bomb in the Endzone

Williams is really too slow to be the main guy in our passing offense...He would be, IMHO, more like Keyshawn Johnson than Randy Moss so to speak. I think Edwards would be a fantastic compliment to Chambers ( or vice versa) in this style of offense and has been mentioned would only do good things for McMike in the regular lineup (not in the 3 WR sets). Williams is even being considered as a TE by some scouts. I don't think he would fit the H-back that Linehan and other OCs like either. In the slot, you could use Booker, but you also could move Booker opposite of Edwards and use Chambers in the slot, where with his athleticism would be a mismatch especially if he ended up with a slower safety covering him ( crossing routes with zone coverages)...It could be interesting. Feeley, although never could get that pocket sense you want from a QB, also was running for his life much of the time, and is relatively inexperienced as a QB, so that "pocket sense" will and can develop as he gets comfortable and our OL improves...This choice at #2 would not be too bad at all...In fact, might be the best choice if we stay at #2.

Edwards pretty much catching anything thrown his way too plus he isnt built like a Tight End

I suppose so if all you want is another Keyshawn Johnson. I feel a need, a need for speed. Troy williamson will have a better career than both Edwards and Williams.

I disagree with Edwards cathching everything his way... his hands are not in the same league as Mike Williams'.

I would prefer a WR of Williams size.

ya, I'd like to see Feeley throw it too high over a guy like Williams, that is all he did during the Bills game last year in Miami, he kept over throwing open men. Bottom line is that we need a different QB and with that said I hope we take Adrain McPherson in the 3rd or 4th

I think we should give him and Gordon another shot personally, with a more flamboyant offense to play in I think that they will do a lot better than last year, also the main problem wasn't Feeley or the RB's. It was the O-line, and Houck I think can definitely turn Carey into a pro bowl guard or tackle and we added McDougle this offseason who is very capable. With experience he will learn to feel for the rush better and will stop over and underthrowing his targets as often. He showed flashes at the end of the season with great throws and he did have a stellar 1st quarter against the Bills where he threw 3 TD passes when the Bills were respecting our running game.

EXACTLY!! And as a direct result, everybody would be talking about how much Feeley has improved as a QB. He could just toss it up under pressure like before, except now Mike Williams would get it instead of the other team.

Whats that?

Two inches taller and fat?

Considering Williams had to bust his a$$ to get down to 239 lbs at the combine, you can have his size.

You can have his size when he shows up at camp at 254 lbs.

Ill take Braylon Edwards hands, speed, FOUR YEARS of playing against TOP TIER competition , accolades and awards to anything Mike Williams has done.

As mentioned a couple posts earlier, not many people are talking about Troy Williamson. If we were able to trade down a few spots I'd really like to see us get him. I personally don't want us to draft a RB at the number 2 spot if we keep the pick. Could Auburns system just be good and that's why they have 2 top tier running backs??? Maybe they will both be great NFL runners who knows. I just really hope we are able to trade down and gain some picks.
