Good article by the old master, Edwin Pope. The Saints are the best team that I've seen this year, bar none. I like Marques Colston and obvioulsy Brees, but how about Jonathan Vilma and Mike Bell? Damn, those are two hard nosed players I'd like to have. Carl Nicks, too.
We're not there yet, but we're getting there- we took it to the best team in football for 3 quarters. The loss blows, but there are some very good things that happened. 2010 bodes well, not that I'm giving up on 2009. However Gibril Wilson and Ginn got tooled, the saga continues.
Yes, I will say it, I'm not terribly concerned with overkill at this point: Ted Ginn needs to be replaced this year, and removed next year. Every other WR has a role- Bess (quickness, slot, hands), Hartline (out wide or slot, hands, quickness, smarts) Camarillo (hands, mr. reliable) except Ginn. His role is supposed to be deep threat, but he's failing at it. Please refrain from replying with the decoy/keep the defenses honest counter argument. Heard it, done with it. He's a #3 and kickoff returner, end of story. The immediate solution is obvious- let's see more of Hartline and let's get Turner on the field. Let Ginn concentrate on KR's and being a 3rd down deep threat. As a bonus Harline or Turner will actually block on 1st and 2nd downs. For all of the apologists, get used to it- the Ginn criticism is legitimate. Here's the article:
