Egnew being waived -- Per Schefter

Well there goes my longshot hope of Brown making it. Kind of of agree with Nubs though about the timing? Why just before the game instead of seeing how you get out of the 3rd game health wise. Guess it says alot of how little they actually think of Egnew.
 
Miami could have waited but by waiving him now, it gives him a better chance to get an opportunity on another team. This says something about Joe Philbin's integrity as coach, that a decision was made and he did it now rather than waiting a week or 2. Every other player on the Dolphin roster would notice the timing and it reflects well on the coach. In contrast, a pragmatist like Belichick would have deliberately waited to make him a late cut to make it harder for him to make a contribution to another team.
Yes, New England could now be interested but the fact that Joe, Lazor and Hickey made their decision, means that they don't think Egnew will suddenly become a star elsewhere.

Obviously Clay and Sims are locks.

But Lynch has been out since early camp, Hoskings hurt, so guess this Brackett kid is getting serious looks at the 53?

But more and more looks like Lynch will either start the season on short term PUP or go straight to practice squad.

We may be looking at TEs from other teams? Gator Hoskins would fit as a neat versatile backup to Clay. Brackett has looked OK in preseason but we are probably wanting a bit more. Gator or someone from another team would be my tip.
 
Lynch was too high of a pick to cut. We keep lynch as a 4th TE. Its between Bracket and miller for the other spot

No sure if Miller will make it would like to see more of Hoskins if healthy. Had a nice catch at the scrimmage I was at.

i'd say clay sims lynch are on...after that i think its someones cut brackett a long shot...but the next 2 games may clear it up more
