The linebacker swap is looking to have been a pointless transactions & waste of time by ireland when we should of been looking for a true seam threat that we havent had in a decade or more oline help:

dansby: 71 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 2.5 sacks

Ellerbe 51 tackles 0 FF 0 sacks. Downgrade

Burnett: 48 tackles 2FF, 1 sack

wheeler: 51 tackles, 0FF, 0.5 sack

btw misi is on pace for 50 tackles yet he got $17 million he was taken in the 2nd round. He has zero career ints. Kiko alonso taken in 2nd round already has 4 career ints. Irelands inability to locate talent is unreal

How is ellerbe in coverage as compared to dansby because dansby cant cover an 80 YO woman. IMO danby/burnett and ellerbe/wheeler is a push.

dansby is being taken off the field though in some packages to protect against his lost a step speed in coverage especially...no doubt instinctually we downgraded...but dansbys not got much left...

wheeler on the other hand is awful...hell most the big runs this team gives up is cause that guy can't scrape and fill timely...get out of that damn contract asap...congrats you bought a what should be specials only guy pretty much and paid him like top 8 lb money...no wonder 2 other gms laughed at that contract...it's ****ing horrid...2 more years of that and i'll blow my head off

Wheeler is awful. I remember when Gruden made him his underrated player of the week, I laughed. That was such an abnormality. Now he's playing like what I expected.

Yesw, the LB move was a downgrade and yes even Ellerbee for Dansby. Everyone was willing to concede Burnett is better than Wheeler but folks had a harder time with Dansby over Ellerbee. What is really, really sad is this team could have been much better with much less change and turnover then our genius GM did.

- Resign Jake Long, he's not that good but better than Martin/Clabo
- Resign Reggie Bush and use him properly as a pass catcher out of the backfield, Our RB by committee approach would be upgraded
- Keep Dansby and Burnett at LB and we'd be getting much more consistent LB play. In fact we'd also be getting more big plays which is what Ellerbee and Wheeler were supposed to provide right?

I admit I do not know what we should have done at WR, but I don't think it should have been Wallace. To me this guy has been the biggest disappointment of all of our new acquisitions. Do we realize that it's week 8 and we still haven't seen a go route go for a TD? We saw Henne to Ginn be more successful than that guys.

In fact
Pennington to Ginn
Frerrotte to Chambers/Booker
Henne to Ginn
Fiedler to Chambers
Moore to Marshall

Were all seems more successful going deep then Tannehill to Wallace.

Based off the stats, from what I've seen, Wheeler couldn't cover Nick Buonocotti's son.

2 weeks ago almost all the fans were riding Wheeler's nutsack and now finheaven says he sucks. Please people make up your mind

I'll tell you, I can't understand why traded away talent to pick up guys that aren't producing. Is it players? Coaches?

I don't care. Make a ****ing PLAY dammit.

Wheeler was simply poor instincts by a general manager. You've got to be better than that. I don't care if a player gets hurt, or something unexpected happens, but make sure you do the right thing. There was nothing in Wheeler's background or style that suggested he was worth anything close to what we paid him.

Same problem with Reshad Jones. That was the epitome of lousy instincts. Ireland doesn't seem to understand that the arrow doesn't continue to move in the same direction. Otherwise humans would have visited Mars decades ago.

Too often we buy high and sell low.

It was a step down. Wheeler is awful. Burnett was solid while he was here and Dansby at least tried to be a leader. This is another failure by Ireland. The list is getting pretty long

I really tried not to laugh at that comment, but in the end I just couldn't. And yes, Wheeler does suck. So does Ireland for that matter.

We could have signed both Greg Jennings and Ted Ginn (again) for less money, I think, than what we're paying Wallace, especially that guaranteed money. Jennings is still a good, all-purpose receiver who makes for in saavy what he's lost in explosiveness, and Teddy Ginn can still run really fast. I was watching Ginn make as many plays for Carolina as Wallace makes for us. It's taken him years, but Ginn probably has as much polish and technique now as he needs to be everything we wanted him to be when we drafted him. If he came out of college right now, he'd actually be worth the #9 overall pick. While it's taken him years to develop that, all that matters is right now he's probably as good as Wallace. Plus, as a punt and kick-off returner, he's tough-as-nails, and can go make tackles on defensive special teams.
Gibson was a really good player, a really good signing by Ireland. There, he got ONE, and Grimes makes TWO. Keeping Solai was another. Clabo was a miss, but I'm not sure exactly who saw that coming and where were the signs to predict that? For the money, we could've easily have afforded Clabo AND McKinnie. Ireland got thrifty at the worst time. We still had glaring holes due to so many of our players being injured coming into training camp. We really should've either added another veteran defensive back, or keep Richard Marshall. Patterson staying healthy was a like a 20% chance. We could've signed a pretty decent pass-rusher while Jordan learned. When Wake was hurt, we couldn't even sniff the QB for 3 games. Ireland keeps putting us in these 'Murphy's Law' situations, and it almost always goes wrong. Cut Richard Marshall, Patterson misses 4 games (5 games?), stop at only acquiring Clabo, and he's freakin' brutal. Go bargain-basement at guard, and Lance Louis is too hurt to play and gets cut. Let Tyms get poached off the practice squad and IMMEDIATELY, Brandon Gibson gets hurt. IMMEDIATELY. Murphy's Law casualties over and over again.

"Burnett was solid while he was here and Dansby at least tried to be a leader"

I don't agree with Burnett being solid. With Miami, he was hurt constantly and couldn't cover anyone either. I was happy when he was gone, but I didn't have the full 411 on who replaced him. I did read some warnings about Wheeler but I was just hoping it was just one grumpy guy's opinion. Unfortunately, negative criticisms always seem to be more correct about our players than the positive ones.
Also, I don't understand why players are always doing better when they leave us. Wasn't Coyle a pretty esteemed DC? Didn't we feel positive about his hiring? Now, it's "he mis-uses our players", and the numbers indicate that it's true. We get less value from our players than other teams. Any good owner would look at this and make Ireland and these coaches disappear.

Ellerbe got hurt in the 1st half of the Ravens game and didn't play to the best of my recollection in the Bills game. So the Dansby stats in comparison to his seem a bit skewed IMHO.

Dansby was not worth the money we gave him in FA.

The 2011 season when he came into camp 20lbs. overweight put him on my hit list.

Dansby DID NOT make that many game-changing plays IF HARDLY ANY when he was here in Miami. I wasn't sad to see him go truth be told
