I have been a Daunte Culpepper supporter since the trade was announced last winter. I still support Daunte, but his decision-making, timing with the receivers and inability to feel pressure and get rid of the football are rookie mistakes, not things a seven year veteran should be doing.

I know all of the Dolphins' struggles are not his fault. This offensive line is HORRIBLE!!!! It seems like all our lineman are fat, unathletic guys with no ability to pass-block or pick up blitzes. What ever happened to Anthony Alabi??? We spent a fourth round pick on this guy and Houck supposedly loves him and he was said to have done a good job in practices against JT. Why not give him a shot? He can't be any worse than Shelton. Carey has been pretty good, but that's as many compliments as I'm willing to give.

As for the defense, I am absolutely shocked by how bad they are. We are horrible on 3rd downs. Why are our blitzes picked up so easily when we have two of the best blitzing coaches in the game? I know our linebackers aren't very good right now, but the blitzes themselves seem predictable. Zach Thomas is still a good player, but I'm sorry, I think the hype around Channing Crowder is premature. The guy has yet to record a sack, have an INT or change the face of a game. Right now, Crowder is just another guy. Same with Spragan...just another guy.

And this secondary...Jesus...Will Allen has been very good and Andre Goodman has been decent, but the safeties have SUCKED. I'm really sick and tired of hearing about how the "communication" isn't there in the defense. These guys need to suck it up and start playing like professionals.

I have always supported Coach Saban and still do, but Mike Mularkey has been awful and I think it's time for Saban to tighten the reigns on Mularkey or promote Charlie Baggett to OC. The Dolphins' struggles on offense is a **** salad, with the ingredients being poor play by Daunte, inept play by the offensive line and downright stupid playcalling by Mike Mularkey.

I hope things change soon because I am as pissed as I have ever been during Nick Saban's reign as Dolphins head coach.

Good post, i disagree with the defense sucking though. They just keep getting put in bad spots by the offense. Our offense has way too many short drives. Its our defense that keeps us in these games, and the only reason we scored any points the first 3 quarters of the game.

Our Blitzing, doesn't really work though. Most our pressure is from our line just doing the job, we need the extra secondary help.

Oh and one thing I like is your sig, but we tried something different and put daunte in a shotgun all day. It just didnn't really help our oline protect, or daunte make and big plays. (late touchdown excluded, which was predesigned sink or swim, but a great play nonetheless.) It also made running more difficult.

Check the tape...Alabi got a shot today. He was in the game for two plays. Those were the two consecutive plays where Mario Williams got his first 1.5 sacks of his career.

i'd have to say the defense is mediocre at best. our blitz's don't work because we have no playmaker's at that position (as far as rushing the passer ) wach pitt blitz and you will see what i mean hagan's porter polumala these are the weak players on defense holliday, tillman, hill, spragan, daniels, goodman is there a difference maker on this defense NO...there used to be wit jt. and zt. zack is great he flies everywhere he tries harder than anyone on the D. but he get's beat by the bigger guy or faster guy on the regular and let's be honest jt should only be in there in passing situations we have average players at almost every position on D HECK EVEN OUR NUMBER ONE PIC IS AVERAGE WAIT YOU WILL SEE he is a tackler and that is about it not a game changer just a good tackler and the problem on this offense is the O-line and the fact that there is no chemistry there every year there is a new O- cordinator ...we started this whole thing off wrong i mean saban started this whole thing wrong the one thing jimmy johnson was right about was you build a winner through the draft but you start inside out you start with the trentches the d-line and the o-line because that's where the game is won and as much as i like ronnie brown who is a bruiser the player i wanted in the draft that year was shawn merriman but i thought he was top 10 and would have traded down and picked up an extra pic running backs are not top priority's we still could have drafted marion barber or even lawerence maroney this year wwhat i 'm trying to say is we need a shawn merriman on this team a killer a beast a crazed linbacker to blow people up and as far as the O-LINE goes take a look at the jets and the protection that pennington get's a rookie at center by the way is who i wanted this year mangold and d-brick but we alway's draft guy's on the line for potential not production we always pass up on some production for some potential and this team will never win untill we pass on potential and start going for production

I wasn't able to watch the game, but maybe throwing Alabi into a situation where the Texans know we are going to pass wasn't the best idea. If you're going to give him a shot, let him practice with the first team during the week.

I think I went overboard when I said the defense sucks. I know we have some very good players on this defense. Unfortunately, we don't have enough. We really need another two drafts and free agencies to get the personnel in here to run this defense and protect our quarterback.

And you're right, we did try different things offensively today. Unfortunately they didn't work for most of the day. The offensive line's inability to pass protect and Daunte's inability to get rid of the ball and sense pressure is extremely alarming.
