I've read all the negative stuff all day long and I'm tired of it.
First off - If theses were the 2007 Dolphins the score would have been 40-3 with Favre having 2 TD's and about 250 yards rushing between Washington and Jones.
Secondly- We put the Jets in opportune situations to score with young mistakes. (Pass interferance, shanked punts and kick-off's, ruffing the passer, poor tackles) You can't give a QB like Brett any breaks like those cause he's going to make you pay and that's what happened.
I've also read that they didn't have a Pass Rush. Are you kidding? They pressured Brett all day long. I mean how many times did you see Brett throw that "fade away jumper" pass to avoid the rush. I'm sorry but that is a veteran move that not many QB's can pull off. He's lucky that he wasn't sacked more than 3 times. What did Jason Taylor do last year for us?
Ginn- Ok. If you were the Jets and looked at our offensive line up, what would you think and do? I'll tell you what I would do. I would stack the box and double the only outside threat the other team had and make them beat us with a weaker , small WR with dink and dunk passes. That's what the Jets did. They took away our stength and challenged us.
Line play - I thought they did great. Considering how many combinations of linemen we've had over the past three years. Here we are with a second year center, a rookie RG and LT, a Free agent LG and a switched over RT. I mean come on!! Give them time to gell. Even with all that the gave good enough pass protection and run blocked as many guys as they could to stay in the game. 5 OL on 9 D is tough when you tiring to run the ball.
Lastly - With all that...We still came one play away from beating one of the most hyped and talent infused teams in the league. Think about what will happen next time we meet.
