:soapbox:

I have read almost every post there ever has been put out about C-Pep. How he is washed up, a never has been, worthless and even hated by our GM. I have been a true supporter of C-Pep since he got here as some of you have been. Let me tell all of the C-Pep hater people something.... When he was healthy, people were all over his jock and how he was a long time pro-bowl candidate for years and years to come. Then he got hurt. He went into rehab, tried to push it back so he could be there at TC for whatever team he ended up with. Then we worked out a deal and landed him. The people on this board were all over themselves about how we got a pro-bowler and he is great and all that.

Well....he tried to keep how his knee was really feeling hid so he could start the season to HELP our team. To give the Dolfans what they have been wanting for years....a winning team that GOES to the playoffs and maybe even the SB. He tried to do it behind a line that sucked more than a hoover vaccuum. He kept running for his life. He was sacked around 19 times in about 4 games to the point he was shelved for the remainder of the team. He never got a true chance in an offense that not only would protect him but would allow him to put up the good numbers he had for the Vikings. I tried to be silent but reading the post of how he is garbage just threw me for a loop. Yes I hope we can get a QB in the draft to GROOM... DC needs his chance to shine and all of the nay sayers need to just shut up and relax. If you could do a better job behind our OL then get you butt back there and see what DC had to put up with. We all have been so spoiled in the past by having the likes of Marino be our QB for better part of 17 yrs. I am sure we will draft a QB to mold but until then give DC a damn chance to prove himself instead of smashing the guy. It is getting freakin old already. If any of you could have done better at QB or being a GM to get us a better QB, then you wouldn't be working where you currently work.

Face the facts....C-Pep needs TC to get the offense down and to build a relationship with the offense. I am not saying hand the job over to C-Pep but he needs the chance to prove himself. Make it a competetion in TC. But at least give him a chance to compete and let it be fair. If he is the best then he starts...if not then he is a backup till he can. Everyone knows he has the ability. He just needs to be healthy like everyone else in order to perform at such a high level. I dont see any of you guys running around like that hurling the ball over 50 yrds just to make a play behind such a terrible line. So give him a break. Now that I am done ranting, dont criticise me. I am not a C-Pep homer....I just want the guy to have a legit chance. So stop the bashing and support the guy for crying out loud. When TC opens, we will see what he can do. If he blows then I am sure we will get the right guy in there but either way....it is all about a chance. Now I have said my peace....Peace out and Dolphins forever!!!!

I just wonder if his destroyed knee will EVER be normal again?

There is reports that he is pain free now by the docs and he is walking with no limp like he did the last time he tried coming back. So far all signs are good....have to wait and see. I'm rooting for the guy. I saw what he did down here in Florida at UCF and he did great at Minn. Lets hope for the best...thats all I can say. Im just tired of all the negitivity...ya know.

We're giving him another chance. He deserves that much.
I have a feeling he will surprise a lot of those Cpep-Haters this season.

THANKS!!!! THis is the problem with message boards in general always, gloom and doom. I come here for information on my favorite team not to bash them. People want us to get every player that has been released. Lets support our team and the players, let the GM and Coach make the personal moves! We can talk about what is going on, but the negative things go to far

I have a feeling you're right. I am all about him proving something to the people doubting him.

While I'm not a hater of Cpep and willing to give him a fair chance, he's got to make it to TC or his chances of succeeding are next to none. I hear all the reports and blah, blah, blah, but the fact remains is that he's currently still re-habbing and if he misses any of TC (especially since it's a new playbook), he's going to have major problems. He's already got some issues with making good reads, the worst thing that could happen is miss any part of TC and not know the plays 100% if you have a tendency to not make smart throws when your primary reciever is covered. I think Cam is going to have zero tolerence for bad decision-making by DC, so he better be on top of his game this year. This is all assuming Cam goes with DC and does not bring in someone else to replace him.

I am in agreeance 100%. I am just so sick of all the lame BS. All these people on here being negative. There is like 20 post already on this board about how bad he is and blah blah blah.... I would love to see some of these people go through what he has. We have the coach and the GM to do the right job. The coaches coach and the players play. I come here for good info on the players and all I see is BS crap from people thinking they know better about how the team needs to be ran. Look...if anyone can do better, call up ole Wayne and get a damn interview. Tell them you ahve been posting on message boards for years and you know what your doing.... People need to get a grip. The guy TORE 3 of 4 ligaments in his knee and still tried to come back. HE played the frist 4 games and got beat to death. How does anyone expect a QB to develop a rythm with his offensive unit when he had to go through all that. Hell....even a healthy QB would have had the snot beatin out of him behind our OL. I just cona't tolerate lame BS and all the negativity about stuff people have no clue over. Makes ya wanna be a VIP on this board so you can bypass it all.

I agree. HE NEEDS to be in TC from day 1. With a new playbook and HC in there, he needs all the extra time he can get. If he isnt there from day 1....he will have issues. But if he is there and he is adapting that playbook and listening to Cam, I think all will be ok. I don't think Cam would just throw away a talent like DC without guaging where he is as far as his rehab and talent. But like I have said all along, as long as he gets a fair chance...fine. Make him earn it in an open competition like everybody should do at their respective positions. Nothing should be handed over. People should just grow up and support OUR TEAM. He is currently on OUR TEAM so support the guy. If he goes to another team, then best of luck to him and he tried here and I wouldn't want to be him should we play him on Sun...lol. Anyways...I just kept reading all the negative stuff about him and it is always from people that "know better". Life is about chances....he deserves one and the people on here need to support that and him......

I have a strange feeling he won't be with Miami at the beginning of the season as Green or Carr will be there. I'd like to see him compete myself, but I don't think it's going to happen.

i think cpep will prove ppl wrong this year....just a hunch.....i sure hope he does i bought to cpep jerseys last year (one for me and one for my dad).....i have the worst luck with those damned jerseys

I agree that Culpepper deserves a shot at competing, if they release him before TC than I have to believe it is because of the knee because it just wouldn't make sense other wise. Someone on here said that they heard reports that he was still limping, I have not heard that but if true it would concern me. It has now been plenty of time for his knee to have gotten healthy, unless his coming back to early set him back more than we know.
If he is healthy at TC, I have no doubt in my mind that Culpepper can beat out any QB that has been mentioned. Healthy, he is in a completely different league than Green, Carr, Lemon or any rookie we may draft.

The thing that always throws me for a loop when reading on forums when talking about QB's is some people think if we just draft a QB the position will be set. I agree that we need to draft a QB at some point in the draft, but you don't find a Peyton Manning, or Big Ben, or Carson Plalmer all the time.
I mean Tom Brady was a 6th round pick, but how many QB's are drafted that don't cut it in the NFL. Alot of people are decieved that if we draft a QB in the 1st round he will just come in and take us right to the Superbowl. It doesn't work like that.

With that said I agree that C-Pep deserves another chance. I believe if he had played towards the end of the season when the line was playing better, it might have been different. The games he played in, the line stunk. I do say that he held on to the ball a little to long. The man came back from probably one of the worst injurys you can sustain next to a neck injury and played with no fear. He put his career on the line trying to come back when he wasn't ready. I say they should give him the chance to compete for the job. I don't think C-Pep would want it any other way.

I really hope your wrong. I would like to see him here myself. He wasnt given a fair chance. Considering we only have 2 QB's on the roster ( I think), one would hope we could get Carr and let him learn his 1st year here. Green is just too damn old and I do NOT want to do a bandaid fix with an old arse QB. We need youth...not a 37 yr old......
